About Molly

Molly Wood is an Executive Editor at CNET TV. She is a recognized technology expert who appears on national media regularly: CNN, CNBC, NPR, CBS, NBC, Wall Street Journal Radio (and newspaper), and more, in addition to almost daily contributions to local radio and TV outlets.

Molly is a sought-after expert in her field, and has built a strong brand with humor and sarcasm mixed with genuine and often outraged consumer advocacy. With nearly 60,000 Twitter followers, thousands of Facebook fan page “likes,” and more than 300,000 followers on Google Plus, Molly has a loyal and engaged fan base, and communicates with them regularly.

Molly created and currently hosts CNET’s flagship podcast, Buzz Out Loud, streamed live on CNET TV and available in both video and audio form. Molly also created, writes, and hosts the weekly the Buzz Report Web show, a Webby Award finalist in 2010. And she authors the always controversial Molly Rants column at CNET News.

A veteran live broadcaster, Molly anchored some 30 hours of live coverage from the CNET stage at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and has done hundreds of hours of live television in the form of news standups, talk-backs, and interviews.

Molly hosts CNET Conversations, an interview series featuring tech industry newsmakers and CEOs. She has interviewed Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, Ford Chairman and CEO Alan Mulally, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, and more.

She’s also an experienced moderator, panelist, and presenter, and has appeared at trade shows ranging from CES to CTAM to NCTA to ad:tech.

Molly can be found on radio and television as well: she hosts a nationally distributed one-minute weekly spot for CBS Radio, and has anchored or co-anchored several CBS television tech specials, including a holiday buying guide, a Consumer Electronics Show special, and a Comic-Con special. In her spare time, she fills in on CNET Car Tech reviews, since she’s not just a gadget geek, but a certifiable car nut, too.
