As an annual fundraiser for the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, the Night of Spectacles raises money for thousands of uninsured Georgians who receive sight-saving eye surgeries, eye glasses and eye exams from the Lighthouse every year. Last year’s event grossed $156,000+ for Georgia’s uninsured.
The event features:
A scholarship challenge for student-designed dresses made from recycled eyeglasses.
A juried runway show featuring the dresses, modeled by Atlanta optometrists and ophthalmologists.
Local celebrity judges picking the winning dress.
Hundreds of silent auction items as well as a live auction. Last year’s highlights included an African photo safari, Italian villa getaways, and a walk-on role for Drop Dead Diva.
A catered reception that makes for good food, good company, and a worthwhile cause.
