Some research on my injury

I injured my calf training for a marathon, and I’m looking for answers as to what the problem could be.  I have a weird strain on the upper, posterior portion of my calf behind my knee that I have endured now for 9 weeks.

running.competitor.com/2010/07/injuries/ask-the-experts-i-have-pain-in-my-calf-what-should-i-do_11501

Are any other runner buddies of mine out there experiencing/have experienced this problem?

Eating healthy and cheap

This is an interesting article that I just found on one writer’s take on eating cheap and healthy.  Some of my favorite suggestions include

  1. Buy whey protein in bulk (suggested use as a meal supplement)
  2. Buy Frozen veggies
  3. Buy fatty meats (not sure if I agree as much with this one, be wary)
  4. EAT CANNED TUNA! (I love this one)
  5. Eat eggs (I really love this one too considering I eat between 1-2 dozen a week)
  6. and of course, drink water

Check it out!

Here’s a fun workout…

This is what I threw together for Saturday afternoon.  Just shows you don’t need a ton of equipment to sweat it out and be begging for mercy before the last circuit

4 times through this circuit with 45-90 seconds between circuits

  1. Wide grip pull-ups to failure
  2. Resistance band deadlift x 40 reps
  3. Resistance band front raises x 12 (make sure your feeling it for the last two reps)
  4. Resistance band squats x 30 reps
  5. Close grip Chin ups (supinated grip) to failure
  6. Resistance band curls x 20 reps on each arm AFAP (As Fast As Possible)
  7. Band rows x 20 reps

This should take about a half hour.  My only advice would be that if you are not feeling the burn, up the resistance.

Just wanted to thank iHop for the fantastic, savory, whole grain pancake breakfast this morning. And all at a reasonable price
