Question

spacer Q: Are there any commercially available membrane systems at this time?
spacer A: There are many commercial membrane systems available, with > 5 companies making reverse osmosis membranes for water treatment (Dow Filmtec, Hydranautics, Toray, Koch, CSM, Toyobo, GE Osmonics etc) and a comparable number of companies making MF/UF systems (Siemens, Dow, GE, Pall,... more

Welcome to the official website of the Membrane Society of Australasia

spacer Welcome to the Membrane Society of Australasia (MSA). The Society aims to represent and promote the activities in membrane science and technology both in the research and industrial sectors as described in our Vision and Mission.

Thank you for visiting our website. I invite you to explore our membrane activities and news, and look forward to welcoming you to our community and hope to see you at the next MSA event! spacer

Mikel Duke, President

8th International Membrane Science and Technology Conference 2013

The MSA will be hosting the next IMSTEC in Melbourne, Australia in November 2013. Further details to be announced soon. See IMSTEC website

2nd Annual ECR Membrane Symposium 2011

The MSA will be hosting the next ECR Membrane Symposium at Glenelg, South Australia from the 23rd to 25th of November 2011. The symposium will focus on issues in Food, Water, Energy, Health and Novel Materials. Registration is now open, please see the ECR Membrane Symposium website for further details. The cost for the symposium is free for MSA members and $80 for non-members.

1st Annual ECR Membrane Symposium 2010

The MSA hosted the 1st MSA Student Symposium on the 18-20th February 2010 at the University of Wollongong Innovation Campus and was a great success. We wish to thank everyone who was involved, everyone who participated, and congratulations to the winners of the best oral and poster presentations

The 6th Conference of the Aseanian Membrane Society / 7th International Membrane Science and Technology Conference (AMS6/IMSTEC10)

MSA is co-organising and co-sponsoring the 6th conference of the Aseanian Membrane Society in conjunction with the 7th International Membrane Science and Technology Conference (AMS6/IMSTEC10), to be held November 22-26, 2010 in Sydney. This international conference is aimed towards membrane researchers, manufacturers and end-users who wish to keep abreast of recent progress in membrane science and technology.

+ Inorganic Membrane Symposium (IMS)

After AMS6/IMSTEC10 there will be a post symposium held at Victoria University sponsored by The Ian Potter Foundation. The symposium will focus on new trends in inorganic membranes.
Details: Free, Friday 26th November 2010, 8:30-18:00, Victoria University, Flinders St Campus, 300 Flinders St Level 11 Room C1101 Melbourne.
