Tropical Blends first opened its doors in September of 1978 here in Honolulu. We offer a return to the classic local surf shop where service and a good knowledge base help to develop relationships, not just customers. We take pride in the design and building of each and every board under our roof. There are lots of ways to ride a wave so we look to alternative designs as well as cutting edge technologies to ensure we have something for everyone. There’s a lot to look at, as we consistently stock over 100 high quality custom surfboards made by some of the best in the business.

It’s all about being in the water for us so Stand Up Paddle Boards have a place here as well. As an early pioneer of the sport, Tropical Blends continues to play a leading role in the development of equipment and accessories. We maintain an extensive inventory here in Hawaii as well as distribution points in the Mainland US and abroad. Our manufacturing partners have years of experience in the building of “hand made” products applying proven techniques to produce the quality we’re known for.
