Integrating with aql's APIs

aql® have been offering API based services for mobile messaging and communications since 2001. Our APIs "enable" or "empower" organisations to include our reliable messaging and voice services into existing business processes. aql® isn't just a website or a webservice. We're an operator. We run 7 key sites in the UK and a national network designed to maximise our reliability and throughput and to minimise downtime and eradicate quality issues.

All aql® APIs are operated on resilient, load balanced platforms which are spread across our multiple sites, while sharing the same host name so you don't have to configure your systems to send to different hosts - we take care of all of that for you! All of our gateways support both standard non-encrypted requests and encrypted connections via SSL. In some instances, we can also colocate your own server equipment on aql® premises, to increase throughput between your applications and our systems.

We're keen to assist you with integration within your software requirements. If you're a developer, please make sure your aql® account manager is aware of your requirements and we'll also ensure one of our technical leads is available to make sure the process runs smoothly. aql.com allows users to send bulk SMS text messages, and manage interactive SMS based services directly via our online web interface. In addition, developers can link directly to the our gateway via a HTTP POST. This can be done either via standard non-encrypted port 80 requests or via an encrypted connection using SSL. This gives developers the opportunity to add interactive sms capabilities to their existing systems using aql purely as an behind the scenes SMS gateway service.
