  • Call for project pricing!

While I understand that the cost of recording can be a large factor when choosing where to produce your project, I don’t want it to be a limiting factor. If you’re on a tight budget be sure to give me a call and lets talk about your project. More than likely I can find ways to get your project done at a cost that you can afford!

:: My Recording Philosophy

While this is my profession, and I do charge for my services, money to me comes second to your art. My job as an engineer and producer is to provide you the most comfortable environment possible in order for you to create your music. I don’t do this for the money. Seriously, if I wanted to be wealthy I would of chose another profession! I do this because I love music, and I enjoy helping others create music. I often hear stories from my clients about working with other engineers, stories about their engineer being drunk or arguing with their Wife during their session. That won’t happen here. When working with me at Tone Freq, you will find that I am professional, accommodating and honest.

:: About Tone Freq Recording Studio

spacer

Tone Freq Recording studio was designed and built by Steven Glaze, with considerable elbow greese of fellow engineer Don Budd during the Spring of 2008. The room is tuned with bass traps in all four corners of the room, and includes a custom rear diffuser designed and built specifically for the control room. The control room features Bamboo flooring, a great leather sofa that everyone seems to fall asleep on, and a coffee table. We purposely left out the usual ‘producers desk’ housing rack gear in order to provide a comfortable setting, and we believe it worked.

Double solid doors leading to all rooms provide excellent isolation. the slate lined hallway with vaulted ceiling is not only a great foyer into the studio, but also provides an excellent room for recording horns and guitars. And, when the door to the tracking room is left open, gives us a HUGE drum sound.

The tracking room at first glance seems unusual in it’s dimensions, but it really sounds good. You’ll find bamboo flooring here as well, along with custom made diffusers on the walls the rotate to sculpt the sound of the room.  Double wall construction with multiple layers of sheet-rock provide superior isolation, and that HUGE window allows easy view into the control room. Lights are on a dimmer to provide the perfect mood lighting while tracking that award-winning vocal.

In the back, you’ll find a large lounge with a small kitchen. Double french doors open up to a second story view of Downtown San Jose, while the upstairs lounge houses the tech area for SGAudio Designs.
