Read Early, Read Often

For Kamryn, a kindergarten student at Cecil Elementary School (pictured), reading is a family affair. "She reads everything!" says her father, Derrick Swann. Masons of California

Our partnership with the Masons of California is well on its way to bringing Raising A Reader to 200 kindergarten classrooms in schools around the state. Jose Ortega School in San Francisco and Central School in San Diego have already launched the program, showcasing early successes for children, families, and schools. Learn more»

Partner Spotlight - Target

Raising A Reader is proud to be working with Target Corporation through a national partnership that is currently serving over 2,100 kindergarten age children and their families across the county. Target's National Literacy grant has provided over 10,000 books and Raising A Reader book bags to children, vital parent engagement supports, library connections and Target volunteers in communities throughout the country.
