Anyone looking to increase the energy efficiency of their loft space should consider fitting Styroloft – which is an innovative, lightweight loft boarding product, with high insulating properties.

Panel Systems, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Styrofoam insulation, has developed this exciting new product, which consists of birch plywood bonded to both faces of Styrofoam XPS extruded polystyrene insulation.  This provides an excellent surface that can be walked on, or used for storage, as well as helping to reduce heat loss through the loft space.

Styroloft is available in thicknesses starting from 18mm, which provides four times the level of insulation compared to standard 18mm chipboard and provides an excellent base for topping up home loft insulation.

For even more energy saving performance, Styroloft 50mm provides 15 times more insulation than 18mm chipboard and will greatly enhancing the energy efficiency of a loft.

Danny Phelan, Sales Manager for Panel Systems, explains: “Styroloft is a great alternative to chipboard, as it is less than half the weight of chipboard and is easy to install within the confined space of a loft.   It also provides an excellent base for storage or topping up existing loft insulation.  We are expecting a great deal of interest during the winter season.”

Virtually no  floor preparation is required to fit Styroloft boards and no specialist equipment is needed to fit the lightweight boards, which can be easily cut on site for fitting in awkward areas. Each Styroloft board has been designed to be butted together to give a smooth and even surface that is perfect for walking on or for storage purposes. At less than 3kg per board, Styroloft can be easily lifted through the loft hatch without cutting, providing even greater convenience.

Styrofoam XPS is a proven insulation material with strong compression which has a unique closed-cell structure that makes it resistant to moisture.  As the material won’t rot or allow the development of fungi or mildew, it permanently retains its insulation properties and will not deteriorate like some other materials

Styroloft is available to buy on line at www.styroloft.co.uk and can be delivered to customers’ homes or direct to site within 15 working days.
