Engaged: Jenny & Kris at the Sebastian Inlet

I was immediately charmed by this engagement session from Chrissy and Nicki of Vitalic Photo. The different natural elements at the Sebastian Inlet in Melbourne are so soothing and serene, and feel so beautifully Floridian to me... the photos really took my breath away. Jenny and Kris are planning a wedding with a subtle nautical feel and wanted their engagement session to coordinate; I think the Inlet was the perfect choice, and I'm in love with the bright pop of color from Jenny's adorable dress! These photos are going to look stunning at their wedding in November.

Jenny gave us the story of how her and Kris met and were engaged:

"Kris and I met right before I graduated from high school. I was going to be attending UF in the fall and he had just finished his first semester at UF. We dated for a few years in college before going our own way after he moved back home. Six years later we 'friended' each other on Facebook, decided to catch up over a drink and dated for another two years.

"Then, last summer a friend and I decided to run the Chicago marathon and bring our fellows with us for support and to make a vacation out of it. I ended up having to drop out of the race just a couple of weeks before it but still went to Chicago for fun and to support our friend during the marathon. In between mile markers to try and catch a glimpse of our friend in the race we stopped in a park right in the middle of downtown Chicago. While I was taking pictures of the beautiful trees and flowers, Kris was pulling a ring out of his pocket and getting down on one knee to propose! It couldn't have been more perfect; no one was around yet we were surrounded by thousands of people. We were able to celebrate with our friends immediately after at the post race celebration drinking local beer on the grass and listening to live music in Grant Park. It was the perfect way to spend such a special moment! "

We also asked Jenny how the wedding planning was coming along: "The wedding planning began when I bought my first bridal magazine in the airport on the way home from Chicago! We had the hardest time choosing a date for the wedding because of friends' weddings that were already set. Of course we weren't able to please everyone on our choice of date but I'm learning as the planning moves along that we can't please everyone and as long as we're pleased with the decision, everyone else will eventually be too. That first month or so of decisions was pretty stressful but now that the major details are worked out, it has become a lot of fun!"

So glad you're heading into the more fun part of the planning, Jenny! Oh, and that adorable wedding-date-on-the-life-preserver idea? LOVE! Consider us inspired.

Best of luck to you and Kris as you finalize all of the little details and finally get to just enjoy being engaged. And thanks to Vitalic Photo for sharing this little bit of loveliness with us!
