Remembering Emmylou
by Ronald La Macchia

spacer

Name: Emmylou Carouthers

Form of EB: Recessive Dystrophic

Born: October 11, 1980

Died: April 21, 2007

Residence: Ohio / Missouri

About Emmylou:

Emmylou's sense of humor was extremely good and she had a way of touching your heart to spacer its very core. Emmylou was sitting at the kitchen table one night and got up heading for the bathroom. She stopped midway and started to sing a 'shake your but' rap song, then wiggled her butt and danced to the music right out of the blue. I was laughing so hard and I had no idea she could dance like that or sing. It was when we first met. I knew then she was definitely a keeper and fun loving, nice, sweet, very pretty, an angel on earth as well in heaven. The heavens glow even brither now than ever beforore because Emmylou is in Jesus' Arms.

As a child, Emmylou loved going to the park with her Mom & Dad to feed the ducks and spend time with her family. When we met I took her to January Wal. Bash Park in Ferguson, Missouri. She loved going around the lake on the paved road and it had a fairly good sized playground, but everytime we went it was too full for her to feel safe from being bumped into, so we just fed the ducks bread and crackers, and how she loved to do that!

Emmylou so loved to sing at Hodeaneys, they have a karioke night there. Everyone in the place loved to hear her sing two songs: Jewel's "You were meant for me" and Sir Mix-A-Lot's "I Like Big Butts", that one she got a standing ovation for every time! Emmylou loved the song 'You're Beautiful' by James Blunt.

Emmylou loved her cats Lady Bug & Kady and her dog Loco very much. She also loved her roomate Pete Fink, he is a deaf man with a heart of gold and a very nice man who helped her and was an important part of her life. She was the same to him, he is 57 years old but Emmylou claimed him as her son.

Emmylou told me she never had a banana split, so I got her one. She loved it. We had to smash a banana so she could eat it well, but the cherry... she gave me the cherry. I used to make Home Made Chocolate Covered Strawberries and she loved them a lot.

Butterflies, Lady Bugs, Music, Movies, spacer Nice, quiet nights listening to the crickets, Lasagna, Angel Hair Pasta, Spaghetti, cuddling on the couch, eating Pizza. A lover of Life and a Life of love to everyone.

We will all miss you very much sweetheart. I love you and miss you very much. She went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on April 21st 2007. Emmylou was in the arms of her mom Tammy Garonald Carouthers & stepfather David Aronold & fiancee' Ronald Lee LaMacchia. All three were holding her at the same time for her last 5 hours. She went in Peace fast and was not alone. She is and will be missed, but she is in no pain, no more bandages, lying next to her dad, Thoms Carouthers in Toronto, Ohio.

Emmylou asked me long ago if anything happened to her to take care of her animals and see that other EB patients benefit from her passing. Of course I agreed.

God Bless you all!

Ronald La Macchia
