Who is part of our “Social Song” music video?

8 March 2011 3 Comments

As previously announced we are happy to feature the four selected video creations who will contribute to the final “MMX (The Social Song)” music video.

Michael Cretu chose the submission from Steadycamline, which will function as the main part of the final cut. The creator tells a truly “social” story he is describing as follows: “The music is represented by a female character that sends out a beam of light to people all over the world infecting their hearts and souls with the “Social Song” idea.”

In order to continue with our collaborative approach we have selected 3 additional contributors who sent in some interesting footage. One of them is TUMBATVLV and his video of our lead singer Fox Lima.

Another one is Raikonherz with his brilliant animation of the Enigma logo at the end of the submitted video.

And last, but not least JRBehari who sent in some very inspiring ice skating scenes in a wonderful winter backdrop.

In the next days we’ll compile the different video sequences into one final and official music video. For that reason we would kindly ask user Raikonherz to contact us at web(a)enigmaspace.com … We need to discuss some technical issues with you.

We hope you are as much excited as we are, but in order to deliver the best quality, please be patient some more days. In the meanwhile why don’t you enjoy our “Social Song”?

Michael Cretu announces final video contributors

7 March 2011 7 Comments

Almost a week after closing Enigma’s latest video contest, Michael Cretu officially announces who made it in the final music video for our “MMX (The Social Song)”.

According to our game plan we want to create a “social” video, which is why we set up a video contest that does not feature one winner, but several contributors. In the last days Michael personally reviewed all the submitted video creations and selected four different submissions. And these are the lucky ones …

Congratulations to all selected contributors! You will be the ones representing all the Enigma fans and participants of our “Social Song”!

As Michael said two things have been important for our decision: We want to deliver a high quality video for Enigma and on the same time continue with our social approach. To choose a main video and to pick some supporting video scenes turned out to be a perfect way to meet those objectives. The “Social Song” already features a main vocalist supported by three additional voices, which is why we decided to follow the same approach for the video creation process. And here again are our contributors:

  • Steadycamline with Enigma MMX “Social Song” HD (as the main video)
  • Raikonherz with Enigma logo animated (supporting video)
  • TUMBATVLV with MMX (The Social Song) (supporting video) and
  • JRBehari with MMX (Social Song) – Canada (supporting video).

In the next days we will compile the different videos selected. For that reason we have asked Aristides Moreno (Steadycamline) for his help. He came up with a perfect story in the spirit of this event and he has the technical skills to meet our quality standards. So, please be patient for the final result! We are absolutely sure it will be a great piece of art!

P.S. We would kindly ask those that have been selected to drop us a short email at web(a)enigmaspace.com … We need to discuss some technical issues. Thank you!

Enigma’s final “Social Song” video: Next steps

28 February 2011 8 Comments

On Friday we finally closed Enigma’s latest video contest. We have received lots of interesting footage! Thank you very much to everyone who participated! It’s now our turn to come up with an official music video for our “MMX (The Social Song)”. And here is the idea:

We want to create one official video out of several sequences from different videos sent in from people all over the world. There will be no winners or losers, but contributors to a joint video!

The general idea of this event is supposed to be a social, interactive and collaborative venture for and with fans – and as such we want to continue the video creation process with. And this is what happens next:

  • Since a few days the video upload function has been disabled. We will now start reviewing every submission that has been officially approved and that is listed in our Video Gallery. The evaluation process might take some time.
  • After that we’ll come up with a list of those that made it into the final cut. Michael Cretu personally will select his most favorite sequences – and we know he has done a good job for Enigma’s previous videos.
  • If necessary, we’ll ask those that are selected to re-send their material in real HD quality. We want to create a video of highest technical standards.
  • Then it’s time to compile those different sequences in order to come up with one final cut. Even though we don’t want to give an exact date, we’ll obviously try to be as fast as possible.
  • Finally, we’ll release the official music video for our “Social Song” made by fans.

As always we want to involve you as much as possible. So, there will be constant updates on what we are doing. Please stay tuned on our Social Network channels at Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or Ping.

In the meanwhile feel free to play around with Enigma’s new “Social Video” App on Facebook and spread the idea of our “Social Song” on the web! Share some joy with the world!

Enigma releases new “Social Video” Facebook App

23 February 2011 12 Comments

Recently, we launched our video contest and finally decided to change our game plan. Our idea was to open the whole process and to give everyone the chance to contribute to a visual expression of Enigma’s “MMX (The Social Song)”. The final music video will be a compilation of different sequences from different people all over the world – a truly collaborative experience.

We thought that this is quite a unique approach to contests in general, which brought us to the idea: Why not extending it to become the ultimate global “Social Video“?! And this is how Enigma’s new Facebook App has been developed.

With your help we’ll create not only one official video, but hundreds or thousands! Everyone has the chance to visualize the Facebook profile pics of his/her buddies. You and your friends will be the protagonists of your personal music video for Enigma’s “MMX (The Social Song)”!

What do you have to do? It’s very simple: Just check out our app, enjoy the animation of your buddies and share it! It will displayed on your wall. (Unfortunately, Facebook does not allow to send a message to your friends directly.)

How does it work? The app automatically lists your friend’s profile pics. You will then be able to choose between three different styles of visualization. So, there is something to play around with.

Will everyone be able to see your friends? No, you are not sharing your personal video with your friends. You’ll share a link to an app that dynamically generates clips. So, when your friends open the app, they will see a video with their friends only.

Is there a privacy issue you have to be aware of? No, we do not collect, store or keep track in any ways on your friend’s list, contacts or other details.

What is the purpose of the “Social Video” app? We solely want to make you and your friends enjoy a nice visualization of your buddies’ profile pics in a music video. It’s personal and social!

What does it have to do with Enigma’s “MMX (The Social Song)”? We love the idea of being part of the world’s first collaborative song creation. And this is why we want this new single to be spread as much as possible. It’s still for free and everyone is welcome to download his/her copy! If you do want the official cover and booklet as well, it’s all there.

Have fun and share some joy with the world! Let’s try to establish a new record: We will create the first song that has more than one music video!!!
