Whether cookies are placed on your computer or mobile device is something you can control. This page describes how you can manage the cookies that are placed on your computer or mobile device by CBS Interactive and third parties.

Managing Third Parties' Behaviorally Targeted Advertising Cookies.

A number of the companies that use cookies to collect information about your online activities using web-based advertising are members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI"). The NAI offers a single location to opt out of receiving tailored ads from member companies. To opt out of information collection by NAI member companies, or to obtain information about the technologies they use or their own privacy policies, please visit the NAI consumer opt out page. Also, through the Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA"), several media and marketing associations have developed an industry self-regulatory program to give consumers a better understanding of and greater control over ads that are customized based on their online behavior across different Web Sites. In the UK, the Internet Advertising Bureau ("IAB UK") has developed Good Practice Principles for Online Behavioural Targeting. More information and an "opt out" page to manage online behavioural advertising preferences with IAB UK member companies are available at YourOnlineChoices.co.uk.

In Australia, the Australian Digital Advertising Alliance ("ADAA") has developed the Australian Best Practice Guideline for Online Behavioural Advertising. Please note that if you choose to opt out of having your information used to deliver advertisements tailored to your interests, you will continue to see advertisements on our Web Sites, but these advertisements may not be as relevant to you.

Adjusting Your Browser Settings.

You have the option to set your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, notify you when a cookie is set, and to delete your cookies periodically (including third-party behaviorally targeted advertising cookies). Each browser is different, so please refer to the guide below, which describes how to set the cookie options on a number of different browser types. If your browser is not listed below, please visit www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/ where you may find more information about your specific browser, or select the "Help" menu in your browser.

Web beacons are generally used in conjunction with cookies, so if your browser is set to reject cookies, or if cookies are deleted, web beacons will be unable to track your activity as you navigate between web sites.

It is up to you whether to allow us or third parties to send you cookies, but if you block cookies, you may not be able to view or access some or all of a CBS Interactive Web Site or other sites.

Mozilla Firefox 2.0/3.0+/4.0+/8.0

1. Select 'Tools' from the menu bar at the top of the page

2. Click on 'Options'

3. From within 'Options' select the 'Privacy' tab

4. To disable cookies, uncheck the box next to 'Accept cookies from sites'

5. To enable cookies, check the same box

Firefox version 8.0 allows for more control over which individual cookies can be set and also over tracking. Select 'Tools' from the browser's menu bar, then select 'Options', and then click on 'Privacy' for more details.

Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0

1. Select 'Tools' from the menu bar at the top of the page

2. Select 'Internet Options' from the drop down list

3. Click on the 'Privacy' Tab

4. Move the slider to select your desired level of cookie permission, from "Block All Cookies" at one end of the slider, to "Allow All Cookies" at the other end

Some versions of Internet Explorer allow you to identify websites whose cookies you want to block. To use this function, select 'Sites' from within the 'Privacy' dialogue box (Step 3, above).

Google Chrome

1. Click on the wrench icon at right hand corner of the browser toolbar at the top of the page

2. Select 'Settings'

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select 'Show advanced settings'

4. In the 'Privacy' section click on the 'Content settings...' bar

5. Under 'Cookies', check the box that corresponds to your desired level of cookie permissions

You can create specific exceptions to your permission setting and also view and delete individual cookies that are detected on your computer or mobile device by Google.

Safari for iPhone and iPad (iOS)

1. From the home screen of your device, select the "Settings" icon

2. Select 'Safari' from the list

3. To adjust the cookie settings, tap 'Accept Cookies'

4. Choose either "Never", "From visited", or "Always"

Safari 5.1 OS X Lion

1. Click on Safari from the menu bar at the top of the page

2. Select 'Preferences'

3. Click on the 'Privacy' icon

4. Click the box that corresponds to your desired level of cookie permission ("From third parties and advertisers", "Always" or "Never")

Android for Mobile

1. Select the browser App on your android phone

2. Push the 'Menu' button

3. From the options that are shown to be running, select the 'More' option

4. Select the 'Settings' function from the list of browser functions

5. Scroll down to the 'Accept cookies' option. If the box is checked, uncheck it to disable cookies; if the box is unchecked, select it in order to enable cookies.

Managing Flash Cookies

Flash cookies, also called Local Shared Objects, have a function similar to standard cookies except that they are often larger and are downloaded to a computer or mobile device by the Adobe Flash Player. In some cases, these common cookies can be managed through browser settings. Adobe also provides a means of controlling flash cookies on its Flash Play: Setting Manager page.

Managing Cookies on CBS Interactive Mobile Applications

CBS Interactive may place cookies on your mobile device if you download CBS Interactive Applications, or Apps. These cookies are used for many of the same purposes identified in the section of this policy entitled How CBS Interactive Web Sites use Cookies and Similar Technologies. You may be provided with an opportunity to reject cookies before downloading a CBS Interactive App, but by downloading an App you will be deemed to have consented to the collection of information from your mobile device.
