Google Updates Maps With More Hi-Res Imagery

Apparently undeterred by privacy concerns of some lawmakers, Google on Friday announced it was continuing in its quest to add high-resolution aerial imagery of areas around the world. “Improving the availability of more high quality imagery is one of the many ways we’re continuing to bring you the most comprehensive and accurate maps of the world,” wrote Eric Kolb, a “geo data strategist” at Google, in an official company blog post. Shepard Fairey Gets Probation In Obama ‘Hope’ Poster Case

spacer The artist Shepard Fairey was sentenced to two years probation on Friday in connection to the legal battle spawned by his iconic “Hope” poster of President Barack Obama. A federal judge in Manhattan also ordered Fairey, 42, to pay a $25,000 fine. Fairey created the now-famous “Hope” poster in early 2008, when then-Senator Obama was running for President.
