What is "open"?Not enough people know what "open" really means. We hear about open source software, free copyright licenses, such as Creative Commons licenses, and Open Access journals - but how do they really work, and how can they help me?
A collaboration with Creative Commons. The School of Open is co-led by P2PU and Creative Commons (CC), a globally-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to making it easier for people to share and build upon the work of others, consistent with the rules of copyright. CC provides free licenses and other legal tools to give you a simple, standardized way to grant copyright permissions and get credit for your creative work while allowing others to copy, distribute and make specific uses of it.
Learning about "open".The School of Open will offer courses around teaching what "open" means in the world around us, whether it's in education, culture, research, or government. Learn more about the School of Open.
