We are currently contemplating the future of Silent Uproar and are cooking up some new ideas that will facilitate the flow of information that used to be our standard. Moogfest 2012 Lineup
The third annual Moogfest will take place on October 26th and 27th in Asheville, NC. This year's lineup includes, Primus 3D, Santigold, Squarepusher, Explosions in the Sky, Four Tet, Divine Fits, Pantha Du Prince, El-P and Buke and Gase, among others. [moogfest.com]
Gary Clark Jr. Reveals Blak and Blu
The long-awaited debut full-length from Gary Clark Jr. is titled Blak and Blu and to be released on October 22nd. The collection was product by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Mastodon, Fiona Apple) and Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance). [garyclarkjr.com]
Soundgarden Preps King Animal
Soundgarden have release a trailer for their forthcoming album, King Animal, due on November 13th. Previously, the album was expected in October, but we'll let it slide since we're getting a new album at all. Down on the Upside was released in 1996. [soundgardenkinganimal.com]
Django Django Self-Titled Debut
Scotland's Django Django will release their self-titled, debut album in the States tomorrow through Ribbon Music. Their sound "melds intangible electronic flourishes to a visceral rub of live instrumentation". Watch the video for "Hail Bop" on YouTube. [djangodjango.co.uk]
Banks from Paul Banks
Paul Banks (Interpol) will release his second solo album, Banks, on October 23rd on Matador Records. Banks' has dropped his "alter-ego" Julian Plenti for this new set of "exhilarating minor-key intensity". Stream "The Base" on YouTube. [bankspaulbanks.com]
The Sea and Cake Ready Runner
The Sea and Cake will release a new album, Runner, on September 18th through Thrill Jockey. The songs "began as synthesizer experiments in Sam Prekop's home studio", but were then "reimagined". Stream "Harps" on SoundCloud. [thrilljockey.com]
Third Foals Album Due Early 2013
Even though Foals won't release the follow-up to Total Life Forever until early 2013, they checked in at NME recently with a progress update. Yannis Philippakis called one track "unashamedly funk" and talked about the death of the "indie disco [stuff]". Color us intrigued. [nme.com]
