Big chain bike retailer - I used to get their printed catalog back in the dark ages. They appear to have come a long way since then.

Prices are pretty good on clothing and parts and stuff - look for regular Sales. I just got a couple new tires at like 30% off.

For Repairs -- Based on making a bunch of calls about a recent repair I'd suggest steering towards a small local shop instead. The price Performance quoted to fix some broken spokes was about 2x the price at a small East Side shop. Your mileage may vary.

Sales folks have always been pretty hands-off with me, but I usually know what I'm looking for. Always helpful when I asked questions.

What's to say? - it's a UPS store.

Pro Tip on parking here: there's two 15-minute customer service spaces directly in front of this location. Usually empty so you can run in-and-out.

Service is about what you'd expect. I am just dropping off packages here so I suppose my experience is limited.

The Salt Lick BBQ

Ok crazy... I didn't know this location existed. Nice to have another Salt Lick location a little closer to home.

This location does everything pretty much like the original in Driftwood - except it's NOT cash only. Credit cards welcome! I don't think it's BYOB either.

Family Style is available here which is nice when you want to eat your weight in Brisket. As usual I suggest skipping the sides and just eating plenty of Brisket and Ribs.

Ramen Tatsu-Ya

Yeah... this is the good stuff.

I've been complaining for a few years about there not being a decent Ramen restaurant in Ausitn (or anywhere in Texas for that matter). Problem solved.

I visited Japan a few years ago and got totally hooked on the plentiful and inexpensive ramen shops in Tokyo. Tetsu-Ya is doing Ramen Right.

I'd say Tetsu-Ya is working with an upscale version of the utility-ramen I ate everyday in Tokyo. This is better than your typical street food. Better ingredients and a much richer soup base. I'd say it's in-line with a few of the fancy ramen restaurants I tried in Australia last year.

I am still working my way down the menu, but you can't go wrong with the Tonkotsu.

Tasty.

I used these guys for Budget Truck rental. Good experience. Booked a reservation online for a 10ft truck, but they didn't have any the day I went to pick up, so I ended up with a 14ft truck instead. Worked out great.

They were running an online booking discount so they ended up a little cheaper than U-Haul.

It's a window. That dispenses Tacos. Yup, it's that simple.

I like that I can get breakfast tacos well after breakfast. (Breakfast tacos are available all day, they say).

The Egg, Potato and Bacon tacos are solidly good. A touch on the big side for a Taqueria taco - which is not a bad thing. Note - They do these tacos with all the ingredients all mixed together (like a Don Juan).

Good stuff.

Good food, fast, reasonably priced.  

Aside from that I really like VERTS because they have late hours. During the school year, they are open until 11 on weekdays and 4am on Fri/Sat. Now you need to check in on student breaks and over the summer, because the hours will change depending on demand. I think Summer hours are only until 10 or 11pm.

The good:
- All the ingredients are tasty and they have a good variety of veggies to dress up your kebap.
- Mix up the sauces to keep things interesting.
- Staff is always friendly and they keep the line moving

The bad (and I'm being pretty picky here):
- Sometimes the beek/lamb meat is kinda gristly. I'm not sure if this is due to the type of meat cone they use, or if it's sometimes slightly undercooked. As with gyros or even al pastor, I like the meat to have a bit of crisp/char on the outside - the extra cooking usually melts off some of that fat too.

- Messy. I'm not sure this is a a bad thing, but my doner will often be falling apart after I get about halfway through eating it.  The paper wrapper thing gets all wet and useless. I end up using about 6-7 napkins every time.

- Pre-shaved meat. As another reviewer noted, VERTS usually pre-shaves the meat from the cone and has it sitting for awhile before it's served to you. I know it helps keep things moving, but the freshly cut meat tastes much better.

Tasty food, but a crappy dining experience.

1. Apparently now you have to get a table number from someone before ordering. How about a sign or maybe someone greeting me at the door?

2. The 2-top at the open side of the bar is the WORST table ever. There is a constant rush of servers running past to put in orders at the terminal on the bar corner. To make things worse, the bar guy was sweeping the floor and mopping while I was eating. The mop bucket was about 2 feet away from me and the smell of bleach made it difficult to eat my meal. On top of that - he came really close to touching me with the wet mop a few times.

3. What are all these employees doing? Everyone in the place looks busy as all get out, but no one gave me any service aside from taking my order and delivering my food. No one stopped to ask how my food was or anything else. Why are all these waitrons running around?

Ya know what? For that level of service, I'd rather go visit Phil or Your Mom instead and save a few dollars at the same time.

Meh.
