Writing for The Millions
The Millions regularly publishes pieces from guest contributors. The Millions also has several paid staff writers. The number of staff writer spots is limited and we typically pull from our frequent guest contributors when adding new staff writers. If you’d like to write for The Millions, please contact Max.
The Millions Staff

Max created and edits The Millions. He is co-editor of the collection of essays The Late American Novel: Writers on the Future of Books, called “funny, poignant, relentlessly thought-provoking” by The Atlantic. He has appeared on NPR’s “Weekend Edition”, Minnesota Public Radio’s “Midmorning”, and ABC Radio National’s “The Book Show” and has written for a number of publications. He and his family live in New Jersey.

Garth Risk Hallberg | Brooklyn | Contributing Editor
Garth Risk Hallberg is contributing editor for The Millions. He is the author of A Field Guide to the North American Family. His stories and essays have appeared in Glimmer Train, New York Magazine, Slate, Canteen, Best New American Voices 2008, and Best of the Web 2008. He lives in Brooklyn.

Ujala is an associate editor of The Millions. She lives in Brooklyn and works for the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. She was formerly a writer for The Atlantic’s news website The Atlantic Wire, and a co-editor of the New York media website FishbowlNY. Her writing has appeared in The Millions, The Rumpus, her blog, among various other online publications.

Edan is a staff writer for The Millions. She is a fiction writer and instructor living in Los Angeles, and her stories have been published in McSweeney’s, Narrative Magazine, Meridian, and the Los Angeles Times Magazine, among others, and her novella If You’re Not Yet Like Me, is published by Nouvella Press.
