I thought I’d packed lightly.
Even then, I found myself unpacking 1/3 of the suitcase’s contents in its original pristine condition.
Where decent coffee was lacking, the cigarettes made up.
Where home-sick cravings for warm Asian food were left unsatisfied,
Old friends and wine more than filled the gaps.
London was great in many ways;
Even though I only got to see the city centre in 7 days.
Walking alone on Carnaby Street at lunchtime
Reminded me of Greville Street on sunny late summer afternoons.
I suppose what was sadly absent were the company of Miss Chew, great macchiatos, and Aka Tombo.
To the ones who made it the memorable (entry-worthy) experience that it was - Vic, Mikey, and the sun who made everyday so uncharacteristic of the city, thank you. xoxo
