Rogue Harvest Season Begins!

TYGH VALLEY, OR, August 1, 2012 – The Rogue Harvest Season began this week with 100 acres of Rogue Farms RiskTM Winter Malting Barley at the Rogue Barley Farm and Farmstead Malt House, located in the terroir of Oregon’s Tygh Valley Appellation.

It has been 8 months since first discing and harrowing the land where the winter variety of Rogue malting barley was planted. Despite freezing temperatures, snow, hail, wildfires and hungry Canada Geese, the barley reached ideal specifications for harvest.

The Rogue Farms DareTM Spring Malting Barley is approaching ideal plump, protein and moisture levels and is expected to be ready for harvest within the next three weeks.

At the same time, Rogue has also completed construction on its Farmstead Malt House, located next to the apple, plum and cherry orchards on the Barley Farm.

The Rogue Nation Department of Agriculture will be releasing active updates on upcoming Rogue GYO harvests of Hops, Barley, Honey, Rye, Pumpkins, Cherries, Apples, Berries, Hazelnuts, Roses, Corn and Jalapeños on www.Rogue.com and the Rogue Facebook page (Rogue Ales).

Look for Rogue GYO Certified ingredients in the Chatoe Rogue Single Malt Ale & Single Malt Whiskey – as well as in the other Chatoe Family of Ales, Stouts, Porters, Lagers & Spirits – on taps and shelves now!
