The Alternative Press Center developed one of the largest private collections of alternative publications in the United States, with some titles going back to the late 1960s and early 1970s. The collection also includes books.

The backfiles of the Alternative Press Center collection are currently being archived at the Albin O. Kuhn Library, Special Collections Section, a research library open to the public at the University of Maryland Baltimore County campus. To search for an APC title in the catalog, go to the library's main page at www.research.umbc.edu/aok/main/. Click on Library Catalogs, then on VICTOR Web, then on UMBC and finally on Advanced Search Option. You can limit your search by "media type" in a drop-down box. Select "magazines" and type in the title of the APC periodical you are looking for. The record will include spec col apc if an APC title. The record also includes all the holding of the title at UMBC.
