Welcome to the Lincoln School of Journalism
The School of Journalism was formally opened by the celebrated investigative journalist John Pilger in November 2004 to develop the study of journalism in all its aspects.
The character of the Lincoln undergraduate programmes is distinctive, with internationally recognised strengths in its teaching of professional practice and the theory of journalism.
Students will focus on a range of critical subject areas such as journalism and international human rights, comparative press and media history, investigative journalism and the regulation and conduct of journalists.
All of those teaching production elements of the School's curriculum come from the journalism industries and many continue to be working and award winning journalists. The School's flagship BA Journalism programme is accredited by both the Broadcast Journalism Training Council and the Periodical Training Council, which recognises the strength of teaching and the programme's industry relevance.
The research produced by staff in the School is amongst the most impressive in the country with 70% rated as internationally outstanding in the 2008 official Research Assessment Exercise. (More...)
