Overslept

I woke up a few times this morning and just went back to sleep, so comfortable it was under the nice, warm covers. So what did I do once I was finally awake, fix my errors at the CB. Forgot to change a graphic about an auction last night and had some incorrect information sent which I had to change. Just love those emails. Is that why ML hasn’t come back? Dealing with all the changes in a timely manner. I only took it up cause I figured it would be nice to keep it going until she returns. But it has been months and she hasn’t. I am tired. Irritated, not in the best of moods. Undecided if I want to continue it. So that’s it, now to get some food in me and see to loving my kitty.

Blogging Will Be Light Yesterday

Was helping my daughter with preparations for her daughter’s birthday, making the pinata was the tricky part. I found a picture she wanted. It was relatively tiny so blew it up and made a poster sized printout which she then used as the pattern. Had saved a nice big box which she used, one my grandchild had not destroyed playing with it. She then cut it out, duct taped the pieces together and decorated it with cut out streamers. I don’t recommend the do-it-yourself route as it is very time consuming.

Plus we went shopping for party supplies and the aforementioned duct tape. They didn’t have the color she wanted first time she looked. I never knew it came in colors, patterns too. Gone are the days of boring old gray duct tape.

It proved to be sufficiently sturdy that the kids were unable to break it so she upended it and shook the candy out. They had fun trying thou.

Thought the party went well. Aside from that activity, there was no structured games, just eating and opening presents. It was at a park which had playground equipment which kept the kids amused, no need for games. Grandchild got a ton of stuff, mostly toys, all stuff she liked so she was happy.

So I was busy thou I forgot to get Twinkies when we were at the store provided there were any to be had. Hostess went out of business so they will be no more. Maybe, hopefully some company will buy the rights to make the treats.

To Secede Or Not

I agree with Beck, people have got to be out of their mind to sign a petition to the White House that they want to secede from the Union. It isn’t whether it is doable or not IMHO, it is whether one wants to willingly put their name atop Obama’s enemies list. He won’t forget.

Although Beck didn’t put it that way, he did make clear who Obama will clamp down on.

Interesting note, these petitions are coming from all fifty states. Even people in blue states want nothing to do with the Obama administration. Little surprised at that.

Junked

Was looking for a misplaced email when I found mail from iCloud in the junk folder. iCloud is part of Apple here and don’t think an Apple product, Mail, should put mail from Apple in the junk folder. I did find it humorous it did that.

Anyway, it seems I have a new email address. My @mac.com, @me.com is the same as @icloud.com. All goes to the same inbox. Take your pick.

Meowza tweeted this: #WagNSwag Fundraiser for #SandyPets. Give any $ amt for chance to win prize from @MayzieGal bit.ly/W1S7Fs. It’s a worthy cause, glad there are no-kill shelters/rescues working to help displaced pets.

Carnival of the Cats #452

Is here and we need more, more kitties so please submit your post here or email carnivalofthecats(at)gmail.com or leave a comment here.

First up, Ritzi shows off a litte tongue. She’s also a needy kitty, click pic to see video. Really must upload it to You Tube so don’t have to do that.

spacer

Seeing as it’s Veteran’s Day and I am one, really should honor all our vets.

spacer

Elvira honors the military felines, bet you didn’t know there were those. Go kitties!

Nikita is slightly less patriotic, checking out the cats in his neighborhood. Maybe he’s looking for new recruits.

We turn our attention to Hank the Cat who surprised everyone with his showing in the Virginia Senate race. Even Maddie approves… sort of.

The Funny Farmer Felines interview Faraday, Allie and Maxwell, the kitties from A Tonk’s Tail, on Mousebreath.

Thanks all that entered, still want more kitties. Next week’s host is Kashim, Othello and Salome.

Caturday

At long last I have pics. The latest iPhoto update fixed the problem it was having always updating the database then crashing so I was able to import them. This one’s from Sept 14, that old. Took Apple long enough to fix it.

I don’t know why Ritzi was licking her chops as she was in the bathroom. Oh wait, she does like to drink from the faucet.

spacer

I am hosting the carnival tomorrow. Submit your post here or email carnivalofthecats(at)gmail.com. FYI, Blog Carnival is working better now it has new ownership.

Timing Is Everything

From the release of information about Iran shooting at one of our drones over international waters to the resignation of David Petraeus from the CIA so conveniently before he was to testify before Congress over the Benghazi coverup, timing seems to play a critical part in what the Obama administration does or does not reveal.

After the election.

I wonder what we will find out if we will find out that is.

Others are taking note, heard about it on Fox not from Beck who ran clips from election night on his show today. Probably taking the day off.

It did take attention away from all those companies, large and small, laying off employees right after Obama got reelected because he got reelected. That got scant news coverage far as I could tell.

I doubt that is the last I hear of anything suspicious coming out of or not from the Obama administration. After all, he has another four years to muck things up.

Oh sorry, that is to “fundamentally transform” the country.

Down

Me, still depressed about the election but got a lift from Kiril’s post on gratitude especially the scripture. Yes, we will win in the end but many difficulties lie ahead. The country will face near total destruction before it can be saved and maybe not the whole country saved initially, it may be a small part. Stay on the Lord’s side despite it all.

There has been some reaction to the election, the stock market tanked and there is talk of another credit downgrade. More talk of companies not hiring. Obamacare will be implemented fully with rationing of care, death panels to the elderly and disabled. Obama is paving the way for Agenda 21 and a whole host of U.N. treaties, cap and trade. It goes on, suffice it to say they are going to double down on their Leftist agenda.

Another day with a sick child, just now getting around to posting my somewhat gloomy thoughts.

Feel Sick

Fox is projecting an Obama win. Democrats keep the Senate, Republicans keep the House.

Disaster.

Guess it isn’t going to be a long night after all. I just knew that would be the outcome.

Any hope Romney can win is slim to none.

Beck is predicting brisk gun sales tomorrow as Obama will surely outlaw them. Submitting to the U.N. will be the order of the day.

Agenda 21 anyone?

I Voted

spacer

More than once, well that was on Dancing with the Stars, just once for Mitt Romney.

I have to have my amusements, politics has dominated the media so I watch that show to break up the endless prognosticating.

I do hope we find out this week. If it is close, what with Ohio’s provisional ballots not being counted until the 17th, think it was, might not know for a while.

Do go out and vote.

Interesting, a good friend drove me to the polling place. She’s a Democrat so we did not discuss our voting preferences. I steer away from discussing politics when it could get contentious.

Would have posted this earlier but Dreamhost is having problems today.

Ultimate TinyMCE

Now has clipart, can search thru some 76 pages of cats to find one to add. They come in three sizes too. Amusing feature if one hasn’t uploaded any pictures lately which I haven’t.

I’ve been updating sites again, some more out of date with the plugins. Got work to do.

Getting this up early cause of the time zone difference. I have become more aware of it editing the Cat Blogosphere. Leave your links in the comments and you will be added. Thanks.

Coco is missing, please send your loudest purrs so she can find her way home. Also positive “Coco go home” vibes, that works too.

Luna shares a lovely pic to accompany her PSA about preparedness and voting. Do attend to both, it’s very important.

The kitties at Animal Shelter Volunteer are blogging for peace. The annual blog blast for Peace is Nov 4.

Samantha, Clementine and Maverick have their peace globe up too.

Thanks all for entering, kitties can still enter, the weekend isn’t over yet. Next week’s host for Rememberance Day Edition is Samantha, Clementine & Maverick.

Not Long Now

Before we find out who we elect, provided we do it honestly. That might not always be the case.

Already, I have heard about early voting where the ballot was marked Romney yet counted towards Obama, defective machines or dishonest ones. Think someone is looking in to those reports.

It would take a decisive Romney win to overcome the alleged vote fraud that may yet occur. Some people predict such a win. I am doubtful.

Already there are ads threatening violence if Romney is elected. They have the U.N. monitoring the election for voter suppression by the Republicans. That’s a laugh considering the voter intimidation by the Black Panthers last election and vote fraud from the Left, Acorn being chief offender.

Here in Arizona have to show a picture ID, been that way for some time. Don’t consider it voter suppression as one needs ID for just about everything else so why not voting. Is one way to cut down on vote fraud, think that is why the Left does’t like it.

I will be glad of one thing, once this is over, the endless appeals for money will stop. I am tired of them, despite having given, the requests never cease. However, my money has. Ceased that is. I am sure that’s how the voters in Ohio feel about the ads, they are tired too.

One last thought, not a few have predicted who will win it. I have my thoughts too but, as I am not an optimist, will keep them to myself. Sides, whoever wins will be in for rough time ahead so says Beck.

Am I ready for what lies ahead? I don’t know, I just don’t know.

Happy Halloween

What’s left of it, just posted tomorrow’s noos at the Cat Blogosphere, different time zone. I don’t seem to post much. Busy with shopping, not so busy with trick-or-treaters. Only had my grandchild and a few other kids. Neighborhood is quite dark, only a very few houses with lights on. Guess they are not much into the holiday. I took pics… of my grandchild of course, haven’t uploaded them yet as iPhoto has been acting wonky and not in the mood to deal with it. Update: finally uploaded the pics. This is a nice family shot.

spacer

Sides which I am just plain tired. Shouldn’t complain thou. I do have a house, one that hasn’t been destroyed by a hurricane. Growing up, I’ve been through a few. Luckily we lived far enough inland that we didn’t suffer much damage. Electricity always cut off thou we were the only house in the neighborhood with light. Helps to be prepared.

And follow instructions, my daughter and I had a quite spirited discussion of Gov. Christie’s reaction to the unprepared and to the election. Come to think of it, to him and Obama together, looks good for the President. Which in the long run could be bad for the country if he is reelected.

Frankenstorm

Is here, not here in Arizona but here as in hit the East coast of the U.S.. From what I have seen on the news, it’s a bad one, lots of flooding. George the duck has an excellent list of resources for those affected. My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected. I have family and friends in the area. Hoping they are safe.

Blogging Will Be Light Yesterday

Between my daughter coming over and cleaning her bathroom which inspired me to do a little housework and babysitting my granddaughter which took most of the evening, I forgot to blog.

Today too as I was out this morning doing my regular Temple visit. Just recently got back from a lovely dinner out courtesy of my daughter in thanks for babysitting on Friday which I don’t usually do. Sandwiched in a little laundry between events.

And petting the kitty, always!

I lead such an exciting life.

Died

Woke up this morning to find no internet. Did the usual trouble shooting with no luck. So called the phone company who said my modem died. To replace it would take either a day if I ordered before 3PM or it would be Monday. Both unacceptable so I got one at the store. Setting it up now.

Two Weeks

From today, the big day. What we do will decide the fate of the Republic. Will the United States stand as a beacon of freedom for the world or will we follow Europe’s lead into Socialism and eventually a failed state? It’s up to us now.

Remember the next President will be appointing Supreme Court justices which will impact our Constitutional rights. And approving dangerous treaties which could also wipe away our rights. Actually Obama and the Senate may do that anyway. He has until Jan 20 if he loses.

Reposting the graphic, easier than scrolling down. Ann of Zoolatry made the pawsome graphic.

Debate

So I don’t post much lately. Between watching debates, babysitting and tending to the Cat Blogosphere, I have neglected to blog.

Or tweet, grandchild was playing Bad Piggies on the phone while I watched the debate. Kept her amused until the battery died. Btw, Bad Piggies are the pigs in Angry Birds.

It isn’t just the debate which Romney won, it’s also the post-debate analysis that interested me. Seems to be not a few that thought Obama came across angry, petulant and petty. Romney looked presidential, his responses were sensible. And he was able to distance himself from Bush. He didn’t allow himself to be drawn into petty arguments. Although his policy was close to Obama’s, he was able to draw distinctions between the two.

However, he didn’t touch on the Benghazi fiasco. That would have been interesting. As more has come out, it is obvious the administration not only knew, but watched it unfold in real time. And did nothing. Shameful.

Will be interesting to see how the polls go after this.

More Trouble

I’m not referring to the mess in Libya or the rest of the Middle East or anywhere else.

Not even referring to the kitties unless you consider Lion and Mountain Lion kitties. Kitties that don’t play nice with my apps or vs vs.

Been trying to post and edit the Cat Blogosphere. So far, it has taken two browsers on two computers crashing, mail crashing, computer reboots, to get it done. The editing is the easy part, the computers the hard part.

Hopefully I didn’t miss anything. If I did, I’ll find it eventually and fix.

Social Media And The Election

Sarah Wenger created this cool graphic that highlights the relationship between social media and the election. Fascinating.

I use Twitter to follow the most interesting stories and people, hardly ever tweet myself. I’m too busy reading the stories they link to. Facebook, I actually post stuff when not playing games.

Finally Heard From ML

She is doing as well as can be expected with migraines and without a computer. Seems moving does a job on computers. Kiril had to get a new one too.

Hoping ML can get a new computer soon and, of course, get rid of those nasty migraines. Sending purrs and prayers from Ritzi and me.

For those of you who don’t know who ML is, she runs the Cat Blogosphere. I am just the tech support person who hosts it. In her absence, I have been keeping it running, ie posting. So naturally I want her back.

Blogging Will Be Light Yesterday

I was busy helping a friend move a site. The WordPress part was easy. Moving the database was trickier. Spent some time in phpMyAdmin which I haven’t used since my database got too big. That has a 7mb limit, mine was over 40mb several years back, now 45.98mb. Can’t back that up. Have to rely on Dreamhost’s backups.

Hmm, the Cat Blogosphere‘s database is 268.32mb. Well, that kills any moving that site. It is just too big. It’s paid up for the next year so no worries there.

Today I’ll be busy in a different way, debate tonight. They’re always interesting.

A Most Spectacular Crash

iPhoto, when I opened it, the prompt stated it had to upgrade the library then it said it was corrupted and would reopen. Trouble is it didn’t close and then I got the message it was already running and couldn’t have two instances of it open. Trouble is when I tried to force quit the app, it didn’t show as open but there it was. Only thing left was to turn off and reboot the computer hoping I could fix it.

That done, now it said it had to upgrade the library same as before then it had issues so rebuilding it.

One of the things I don’t like about iPhoto is that the later incantations of the program has made it impossible to view the individual pictures outside the program itself. I would hate to lose all my images if it can’t fix itself. I do have a lot saved in separate files on the computer, duplicated but not all of them. Older images I do not have for the most part, some are saved on a backup drive. Must try to access that someday.

Well, it seems to have worked, not sure what I lost but at least I have something.

Now what I can’t figure out is why, when typing this on the laptop, it just turned off. And the battery wasn’t even dead. It is not my night for computers. Mind you these are Apple computers. They are not perfect.

Update: iPhoto has issues again, the same one so going through all that again. Plus the MacBook was dead, fully charged too. Don’t know why. So trying something different, repairing disc permissions. Might help, couldn’t hurt. That done I’m running Cocktail, which does a more complete fix.

In Peril

The right to sell your own stuff from a used car to a book if it was made overseas or even parts of it were made overseas. Depending on how the Supreme Court rules, you may have to get permission from the copyright holder before you sell it. Oh and split the profits with them. That would be the death knell for garage sales, eBay, Craigslist to name a few. Even your local library would be affected.

Considering their ruling on Obamacare, not holding my breath for a sensible ruling.

Hmm, if Obama gets reelected, he may get to appoint a couple more justices. That would imperil a whole lot more than one’s ability to sell their used iPod. Think on that.
