Outdoor 2012 is a festival based on the realization of artistic projects and cultural activities that aim to leave a permanent trace in the culture, habits and way of life in urban areas. Outdoor is more than a series of festival editions based on wall painting installations, it’s a developing project which becomes bigger year by year. If the first OUTDOOR edition can be considered a turning point in the perception and acceptance of street art by the city of Rome, now we can envision a strengthening the relationship between Rome and street art in general. The festival takes place in the Ostiense neighbourhood and in the surrounding area, an historic ex-working class part of town, today especially tied to Urban Art Projects remarked by a particular link between territoriality and internationality. Here on the website you will find a map with all the permanent wall painting installations made in 2011 and those that are going to be realized in 2012; as you can see the Ostiense neighbourhood is set to become even more the “official street art area” of Rome.
“Guarda in alto” in English “Look-up” is the official OUTDOOR 2012 slogan. A clear encouragement to glance up and look beyond urban environment boundaries to discover a better Rome-more creative, colorful, joyful.
