Roger Langridge's take on Thor had a definite Golden Age gild to it in his all-ages tale of the Mighty Avenger--so much that in the collected trade they've complemented the stories with two selections from Journey Into Mystery. The structure of Langridge's tales is just as enjoyable as Thor's brash naivete; the build-up goes through Thor meeting each of the members of the future Avengers, while battling enemies and being strung along by Loki. If only the series had continued past the 8th issue I'm sure there would have been a definite pay-off to it but, alas, this great representation of adult nostalgia was cancelled due to poor sales.
