We’re making big changes to the Cheezburger API to make it more developer-friendly. It’s going to be a big job, but we’re very excited about this!
We’ve heard a lot of feedback over the past several months and we would like to provide more value to our developers. We also need to make sure that applications align with our vision for the Cheezburger community and platform.
We want to encourage a vibrant and financially-viable developer community making unique, innovative and fun apps. When we relaunch, we’ll open up our revised API and Terms of Service for commercial use for apps that meet a simple set of requirements. That’s correct, that means, you can make money selling apps that work using the Cheezburger API.
In regards to that last statement about making money with your app, we also are looking for true developers to put their talent into creating something useful. In other words, your standard JARA (just another reader app) will have severe limitations, and won’t be something we will help you with. We are looking for apps that define our api.
Bottom line, we want a growing and creative developer community that’s creating unique, innovative and fun applications for our users.
Dev cloud space and support: Our new and improved API will include cloud image storage and one of the Internet's biggest library of categorized caption-ready images, but we want to do more to help your application be a success. We'll be providing SDKs, better help and support, and branding guidelines and assets.

Promotion and advertising of apps on Cheezburger.com so you can make money. We know that standing out from the crowd is an important part of building successful applications. We have heard and listened to our community, and we want developers to create unique, innovative and fun apps that can make our community happy for 5 minutes a day.
