EMPAC Presents
Jennifer Koh: Bach and Beyond
spacer
Friday, Nov. 30, 8 p.m., EMPAC Concert Hall
spacer

Violinist Jennifer Koh presents a concert from her “Bach and Beyond” series, a set of three solo violin recitals that strengthen the connections of the “Six Sonatas and Partitas” by Bach and the present day through a historical journey of solo violin works by Phil Kline, Kaija Saariaho, John Zorn, and Béla Bartók.

Violinist Jennifer Koh is recognized for her intense, commanding performances. Since the 1994-95 season, when she won the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Concert Artists Guild Competition, and the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Koh has been heard with leading orchestras and conductors worldwide. Also a prolific recitalist, she appears frequently at major music centers and festivals.

The concert will take place in the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) Concert Hall beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 general admission; $13 non-Rensselaer students, seniors, and Rensselaer faculty and staff; $6 Rensselaer students.
