About Facilities :: The Architecture Library

The School of Architecture houses two special libraries in Richardson Memorial Hall. The Architecture Library contains 23,000 books (another 24,000 volumes are stored in Howard Tilton Memorial Library). The Emile Weil Memorial Fund allows the Library to maintain subscriptions to more than 130 architecture journals from around the world. The Architecture Library provides an optimal setting for quiet and relaxed study and research as well as for browsing and reading. The second collection in the School of Architecture building is the Digital Image Archive and Slide Library which contains more than 100,000 images of architectural subjects.

There are several other important collections on the Tulane campus. Of particular interest to architecture students is the Southeastern Architectural Archive, in Jones Hall, that has more than 3,000,000 items, including 500,000 architectural drawings and 25,000 photographs. It also has a gallery with permanent and temporary exhibits. The links below form a point of departure for exploring the vast architectural holdings.

Recent theses are located in the Architecture Library, behind the circulation desk, and may be checked out for use in the library only. Older copies (1963-64, 1973-2007) are located in the Tulane University Archives along with all other submitted University theses and dissertations. The University Archives, located at Jones Hall, preserves the official records of Tulane University and information about Tulane. Please visit the University Archives website for more information. The attached document is an index of Architecture Theses.
