About Using PureSize
The PureSize capacity estimator accounts for the capacity impacts of these parameters:
- Thin provisioning
- Pattern removal
- Deduplication
- Compression
- Metadata, flash management, and storage overhead
It simulates the behavior of the FlashArray upon an initial data ingestion. The larger the data set you use in PureSize, the closer the result will be to your actual results on the FlashArray. This happens because statistically the more data there is, the more likely the FlashArray will find duplicates and patterns we can reduce.
