Plugins

October 30th, 2006 by Erik J. Barzeski

Plugins I've Developed

BetterWPMail (current version: 0.5)
I was never fully satisfied with the way WordPress emails (notification of new comment or moderation required) looked, so I wrote my own.

BetterWPReadMore (current version: 0.2)
WordPress formats the "read more" links horribly (you can read more here). So, I wrote this semi-hacky little plugin to give you four customization options: add a title, append to the end of the paragraph, remove the #more-xxx link, and remove the <a id=""> link.

PPEndLoop (current version: 1.1, for PixelPost)
Allows you to use "Previous" and "Next" buttons in your PixelPost photoblog without the looping that exists when using ImageCycle.

Installed Plugins

The below plugins are currently active on my site.

There are 30 plugins used: 27 active plugins and 3 inactive plugins.

To get started: 1) Click the “Activate” link to the left of this description, 2) Sign up for an Akismet API key, and 3) Go to your Akismet configuration page, and save your API key.

spacer   Democracy 2.0.1
» Andrew Sutherland (url)
This poll plugin is easy to use, install, and manage. It uses AJAX to load data, making it quick and fun to use. Add {democracy:*id*} to your posts to include polls in your posts, where *id* corresponds to the ID of your poll.

» Daniele Mancino (url)
Allows commenters to quote other comments (dynamically or server side if they have Javascript disabled) and any other text in a page (Javascript only). Quoter is by Daniele Mancino — although this is a minor, third-party bugfix release by Hawkman, so questions about this specific version should probably go to him.

Honored to have my name on this list. I fear with the changes Digg has made, it won't be for long, though.

3 years later, and Akismet is still on top of their game and a must in my opinion for any WordPress blog.
