ATLANTA - April 11, 2012 - When the southeastern chapters of TiE Global host TiECON Southeast on April 28 in Atlanta, Georgia, there will be Angels in the audience.

TiE Atlanta is a globally connected not-for-profit organization created for the advancement of entrepreneurship. TiE Angels Atlanta is a Special Interest Group within TiE Atlanta, comprised of TiE Atlanta Charter Member Mentors and representing a successful group of entrepreneurs and executives, intent on fostering entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial spirit. TiE Angels Atlanta will be part of a global network of TiE Angels, and affords entrepreneurs direct exposure to experienced investors.

TiE Atlanta was established in 1998 to foster entrepreneurship by teaching and mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs. TiE Angels Atlanta takes that commitment one step further as Charter Member Mentors - already active accredited investors in the Atlanta community - invite entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas and then decide whether and how much to invest, providing a springboard for entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to life.

Chairman of the TiE Atlanta Board, C.N. (Madhu) Madhusudan shares "We are very excited to launch TiE Angels Atlanta. It offers a brand new opportunity for Atlanta entrepreneurs to gain instant visibility, mentoring, and capital from the TiE Global Network."

In a December 2011 New York Times article, Somini Sengupta wrote of Raj Pai, who worked at Intel for years prior to starting his own venture and who said of his decision last year to approach TiE to be one of two main investors in his company, Claritics, "In the Valley, there are a lot of sources of funding. We wanted folks who had done it before. We wanted investors who had gone through the life cycle of building a large company."

TiE Atlanta's focus - the virtuous lifecycle of the entrepreneur - will be the core of the 2012 conference, entitled "The New Entrepreneur - Success Multipliers in Uncertain Times." In addition to inspiring keynote speakers representing industry-leading organizations such as Georgia Institute of Technology, iSchool Initiative, and Merrill Lynch, two tracks of panel workshops will focus on both early-stage and later-stage entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs who participate in TiECON this year have the opportunity to sign up during the conference to for the first TiE Angels Atlanta pitch event. Those in attendance at TiECON will be the first to be considered to pitch. Visit www.tieconse.org for more information and to register for the conference.
