The first round of the Venetian and Palazzo's Culinary Clash kicks off tonight at the Doge Palace in front of the resorts with Emeril Lagasse himself serving as one of the judges.
Each chef from the resort faces off against another, 16 in all, with half eliminated and the other half moving on to round two next week. Each chef will create a dish in 45 minutes from ingredients found in a mystery basket. Food trucks will be on hand, serving as the kitchens for the event.

"In every Italian garden there is always one dirty tomato who thinks she has a chance with the cucumbers."
And this is how the You Dirty Tomato at Slice of Vegas at Mandalay Place got its name.
The bloody Mary-inspired drink comes with bacon-flavored vodka, Sin City bloody Mary mix, a dash of Tabasco, a dash of Worcestershire and a dash of dirty. The You Dirty Tomato comes in a cold pint glass rimmed with Old Bay seasoning and garnished with a lime, lemon, olive and a cocktail onion with a pepperoni meat straw.

"Pozole soup is a great option for alleviating the symptoms of a Vegas hangover. Back in Mexico, we tend to utilize spicy foods as a way to calm the unwanted symptoms, and soups or broths with a high-end of spiciness will help. In my home region one of the most popular is a spicy Pozole. The Pozole soup at Hussong's is served with a chile guajillo broth, seasoned pulled pork, hominy, onion and cilantro."
