More road work planned this week

Alternating lane closures in both directions continue this week for pavement resurfacing on Mamalahoa Highway between Hina Lani Street and Old Kona Village Road, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Alternating lane closures in both directions will also be in effect for pavement resurfacing on Akoni Pule Highway between mile markers 7 and 15, in the vicinity of Mahukona, according to the department.

Crews will be working from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Crews will not work Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Road work is weather permitting.
