When you think of relationships, whether yours or others, you probably wouldn't immediately throw tech in the mix. When relationships begin evolving, tech and our habits with tech can definitely come into play and even become deal breakers.

Video chatting! Skype has made the long absences when my SO is working in AsiaPac all that much easier. We are both looking forward to using FaceTime once the iPhone 4 is realized in Oz.
Wireless headphones.
I second the wireless headphones. I bought a pair of $50 Sony's for DH as an extra birthday gift. Turns out, it was the best gift ever because now I can go to sleep & not hear his late night sci-fi watching.
joellemarie, I know what you mean. Skype/AIM/VoIP were basically the only ways to stay in contact when my husband was deployed.
His Kindle has been a good compromise as well. He LOVES to read, but I hate the thought of deadtree books and hate how much space they consume. He is in the process of converting most of his library (except Batman comics) to Kindle format. Now that he has realized the convenience of carrying hundreds of books in a small device, he actually loves the idea.
