The December 2012 Legion Trooper of the Month is . . .

Jason Vecoli, TD-7764, of Bast Alpha Garrison!
Bast Alpha recently raised thousands of dollars to help the family of a little girl named Cassie who has a medical condition. When Jason heard that the family had no money in their budget for Christmas, he took it upon himself to help them. He asked friends and family for donations and (with his own very significant contribution) raised about $900 to give Cassie a happy holiday.
Jason discretely got Cassie's Christmas list, and he ordered her just about everything on it, including an Xbox 360 Kinect and several games for her and her siblings. He and two other troopers personally delivered the presents to the family home a few weeks before Christmas.
Congratulations also go out to our other December nominees, Ken Seymour (SL-8995) and Scott Bryne (ID9946)!
Zhùhè to the newly-formed Chinese Garrison!
by Fleetfang on Sat Jan 26, 2013 1:45 pm
The 501st Chinese Outpost was formed in 2010, and over the last three years, they have organized dozens of events, recruited more than 30 new members, and raised almost $10,000 USD for charity. Sensing that the time was right, the Outpost recently submitted an application for garrison status to the Legion Council. We are pleased to report that in a unanimous vote of 95 to 0, the Chinese Garrison has been approved!

In Memoriam: Mandy Zehner TK-51110
by Fleetfang on Wed Jan 09, 2013 2:13 am
The newly-formed Northern Darkness Garrison has lost one of their own. On Saturday, January 5th, Mandy Zehner, wife of NDG GWL Andrew Zehner, passed away unexpectedly. Mandy had acted as trooper support on several events in northern Indiana and, having just completed her own costume, was excited to join the 501st Legion as a member. She never got the chance to submit her application, but in the wake of her passing, her costume has been approved. She is now TK-51110, enshrined forever as one of our Eternal Legionnaires. Rest in peace, Trooper. You do not march alone.
