Ezmlm mailing lists Manager
Our servers use the control system of mailing lists ezmlm (an enhanced version of ezmlm-idx). Mailing lists - is an add-mail server (in our case - Qmail), allowing to carry out communication in conference mode between a huge number of customers (subscribers).
In the simpler version of the list allows you to organize can subscribe to the news.
Access to the management of mailing lists available to users through the admin interface mail qmailadmin. It's enough to go to qmailadmin under your username / password and select the main menu, select "Mailing Lists".
To create a mailing list, menu, select "New mailing list." In the window that appears in the "name of a mailing list," enter the name of your sheet of [name], and in the field «Email-address of the owner of Paper" - your e-mail.
When you create a mailing list to receive e-mail system a number of e-mail addresses associated with this mailing list. For example, to send a letter to the list owner [name], users can send email to [list]-owner @ [domain name] (the letter it will be automatically redirected to the e-mail, specified when creating the list). To subscribe to the newsletter should send a letter to the [list]-subscribe @ [domain], but in order to unsubscribe - in the [list]-unsubscribe @ [domain].
Creating a separate address for each team is a distinctive feature of ezmlm, traditional mailing lists have a mailing address, and commands are specified in the Subject (subject line) or, less commonly, directly into the body. To subscribe to the traditional list, usually followed by a letter sent to his address in the Subject field, which is the word SUBSCRIBE, and to unsubscribe from the mailing list - with the word UNSUBSCRIBE etc.
ezmlm can simulate the logic and the traditional lists - this creates a special address [list]-request @ [domain], which interprets the Subject field in the style of traditional mailing lists.
Key terms
The owner of the mailing list (maillist owner) - the administrative contact, which users can send questions related to the mailing list. Has the form [list]-owner @ [domain] with a mail is automatically forwarded to a real address specified when creating the list. Users can subscribe via the address [list]-subscribe @ [domain], and unsubscribe by [list]-unsubscribe @ [domain], and if the list messages are archived, a file (a list of previously sent out messages) via the [list] - index @ [domain] and get the messages themselves through the [list]-get. By default, the lists are open and unmoderated, ie anyone can subscribe to it through the automatic procedure, and send him a message, which is also automatically sent to all subscribers. This is not always desirable. In the case of moderated lists, message subscription and posting messages are first sent to the moderators, who will confirm or reject the incoming request. If several moderators, it made the very first response to one of the moderators. (When a list sent hundreds of letters every day, it is not convenient for most users - is much easier to get a letter, but it contains all sent messages).
