The Evolution of Education
The Graduate Institute (TGI) is not a route to an alternative education. Rather, it's an alternative route to education. TGI is founded on the beliefs that content is ethereal and ephemeral; context is substantive and enduring; and meaning and understanding are determined by the learner. What does that mean? It means we provide unique programming, in emerging fields of study. It means we learn in cohorts, not classes. It means we don't teach, we avail. It means we don't prescribe what's learned, we enable learning. And it means we honor the individual and the collaborative exchange of ideas.

The Graduate Institute is closed on Friday, February 8 due to the winter storm. All classes scheduled for Friday evening (February 8) and Saturday (February 9) have been cancelled. The Institute will re-open on Monday, February 11.

Colleagues in Learning
TGI is an accredited, not-for-profit institution of higher education. But we don't call people who learn here students. We call them colleagues. For the benefit of all of us, we foster an environment in which each colleague has an objective, each cohort has a purpose, and each idea is shared. We engage and influence each other. We apply intellectual discipline and academic rigor to our passions. We don't create discovery and transformation, we engender and cultivate them.
