Affordable Massage Therapy Program
at Northern New Mexico College
Offering Certificate and Associate Degree programs
Northern's Massage Therapy program provides 650+ hours of massage therapy training designed to prepare students to sit for the national exam which is required for state licensure and for entry-level employment. Formal application and acceptance into the program is necessary before enrolling in any core massage courses. Acceptance is granted for the fall semester of each year.
WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?
Therapeutic massage is the scientific and systematic application of manual techniques to the soft and connective tissues with the purpose of maintaining or improving relaxation and circulation, and producing therapeutic effects on the body systems. Massage promotes stress reduction, decreased muscle tension, and relief of pain related to soft tissue dysfunction.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Admission to Northern as a student.
- Completion of massage therapy application packet.
- Complete Pre-Requisites
PREREQUISITES (6-9 Credits)
- *Eng 109N Basic English II (3)
- *Math 100N Fundamentals of Math (6) or higher level math course (3)
*Must be completed prior to acceptance into the program.
