Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a program funded by the state of New Mexico and federal government under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.  ABE provides free tuition, books and materials, and access to other college services like educational advisement, library access, and tutoring assistance to better assist adult learners with the following:

  • General Equivalency Exam (GED)
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Civics and Citizenship
  • Literacy and Numeracy
  • Writing Basics
  • Life Skills for Student Success
  • Job Search Skills/Career Preparation
  • Basic Computer Skills

Our facilities include a computer lab, reading room, and large classrooms that allow students to work independently on improving writing, math, language, as well as basic computer skills. Our main center is located at Northern New Mexico College at the Espanola Campus with sites serving north-central New Mexico including Pojoaque, Abiquiu, Chama, Gallina, Tierra Amarilla, Okay Owingeh, and Santa Clara.
