Can I enter Notes to my printout?

Yes you can enter any notes or comments you want to print along with your map.

  • Click inside the Notes box and type your comments.
  • When you click the button, your notes will print with your output.
How can I print without the Advertisements?

You may remove Advertisements from your printout from the Print Friendly page.

  • Click the Without Advertisement checkbox located under Print Options on the top right.
  • When you click the button, the Advertisements will be removed from your display and printout.
How can I select to print only the Map or only the Directions?

By default when you select to print both the Map and Directions are included with your printout.

  • To remove directions from your printout, uncheck the Show (Driving, Transit or Walking) Directions checkbox.
  • To remove the map from your printout, uncheck the Show Map checkbox.
How do I print my directions with the Odometer option?

The odometer column shows your cumulative distance step-by-step as you travel along your route and is displayed under the Miles Per Section header on the Print Friendly page.

  • To remove the Odometer column from your printout, remove the checkmark from the Track Odometer option located under Print Options on the right-hand side panel.
  • To add the Odometer column back, check the Track Odometer option.
Tip:
  • You can select to display your distance units in either miles or kilometers under Driving Options when you generate your directions from the main page.

How can I change the Text Size?

You can change the size of the text for your printed directions under Print Options on the right-hand side panel of the Print Friendly page.

  • Click on an ‘A’ to change your text size.
Tips:
  • The text size you select applies to your directions, notes and any terms of use. It does not increase the size of the map or any of the text on the map.
  • This setting is only applied to your current print page.

How can I select to what to print?

You can open and display multiple tabs in a single MapQuest session. These tabs can consist of:

  • A map and/or related directions.
  • A list of search results. (Businesses or Points of Interest)
  • A saved map or list of locations from your My Maps account.

You can select what you would like to print from the Print Friendly page under the What would you like to print? section.

  • Select the radio button next to the item you would like to print.
Tips:
  • Maps and Directions is the default tab and you can only print one tab at a time.

How do I hide a step in my directions?

You may already know how to get to the highway from your house or how to get out of your neighborhood. In this case, you can customize your printout to only print the steps you need.

  • Click on the Hide Row link next the direction you would like to hide.
  • To unhide a step, click on the Show Hidden Step link.
Tips:
  • Hiding a step only removes the direction from your printout and should not be confused with avoiding a step.

How can I view and print a map for a step in my directions?

You can view and print a small map of a step in your directions from the Print Friendly page.

  • Click on the Show Map link next to the specific step in your directions to view and print a small map.
  • Click on the Hide Map link to close it.
  • When you click the button, the maps you selected to print will appear in your printout.
Tips:
  • You may customize your desired view by using the + and – zoom control buttons located on the top left of the map.
  • If you don’t see your directions, make sure you have selected to show your directions in your print options

How can I print a map in Satellite view?

You can print your map using the default Map view or Satellite view.

  • To switch from Map to Satellite view click on the Satellite label located on the top right of the map.
  • Click Map to switch back to the normal map view.
Tips:
  • The active view button is highlighted in green.
  • You may switch your view from either the main MapQuest page or from the Print Friendly page.

How can I Pan and Zoom on the map?

You can move or “pan” your map left, right, up or down and zoom in or out to customize your desired view from the Print Friendly page.

Pan your map:

  • Click and hold the left mouse button on the map and drag your map to a new position.
  • Release the mouse button to complete the action.

You can zoom in or out using either of the following actions:

  • Use the zoom controls in the top left hand corner of your map. The + zooms in for a more detailed view, and the – zooms out for a larger, less detailed view.
  • Or you can use the left mouse button and double click anywhere on the map to zoom in.
Tips:
  • Always use the Print Friendly page to customize and print your desired view.
  • To access the Print Friendly page from the main page, click the button located in in the upper right corner above the map.
