A committee of
the FITS community has prepared an
application to the Internet authorities
for a set of MIME codes for various
types of FITS files, and this
application (actually a draft RFC)
is current [Sept-2004] being considered by those
authorities. This mailing list
(exploder) was used to facilitate
the discussions which occurred during
the preparation of the document. This
mailing list is no longer active; posting to it
has been disabled, but the archive
of postings will remain available as
a historical record.

Using fitsmime
|

To post a message to all the list members, send email to
fitsmime@listmgr.cv.nrao.edu.
You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing
subscription, in the sections below.

Subscribing to fitsmime
|
|
Subscribe to fitsmime by filling out the following
form.
This is a closed list, which means your subscription
will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list
moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the
list of members is not available to non-members.

privacy password below. This provides only mild security,
but should prevent others from messing with your
subscription. Do not use a valuable password as
it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
If you choose not to enter a password, one will be

always request a mail-back of your password when you edit
your personal options.
