Well, my website, that is. In an attempt to simplify, I’ve given my websites a makeover and set them up so they’re easier for me to manage and for you to use! I hope you’ll find everything you’re looking for here (and if not, drop me a line).

I know it’s been a while since you heard from me, but rest assured I am working on two new books for you. The first is the third and final novel in the Good Things trilogy. It’s called Family Matters and it brings Deidre’s life full circle. Remember Claire, Kevin’s 8 year old goddaughter? She’s now 10, and in need of a little support which comes in the form of Deidre even though the two don’t get along…at all. And speaking of not getting along, Kevin’s older sister, the socialite Marla Banks, discovers a long-held secret of Deidre’s and is intent on using it to end Deidre’s relationship with her brother once and for all. Fortunately Deidre has people in her corner as well–there’s William and Alain, and Lindsay, too–but this may be a battle she’ll have to fight on her own, especially when that secret shows up on Deidre’s doorstep.

The other novel that I am working on is about a young woman, Emma Hunter. I affectionately refer to her as a therapist with issues, because her life is in shambles: her husband wants a divorce, her private practice boasts only two paying clients, and she can’t seem to fix anything in her San Francisco apartment without something else breaking. But all of this is nothing compared to the bomb her mother drops on her one foggy afternoon: Emma’s father, who surrendered his paternal rights at her birth, has died. Not only that, but he’s left Emma, his sole heir, to caretake his unusual art gallery in the small picturesque town of Pellmont, California, just a few hours away.

If you want to know what happens, you’ll have to read the books (or hound me relentlessly, though I should warn you that I have three young children so it takes A LOT to wear me down!), which I need to finish them and get them to my publisher. Hmm. When I see it in black and white like this, it’s making me think that I need to stop blogging and start writing. Okay, it’s back to work for me!

spacer I’ll leave you with this: a contest! Thank you so much for reading my books, and for sending me lovely emails and reviews. I can’t tell you how encouraging that is for an author. So I’m giving away a signed copy of Sweet Life, my second novel, and a lovely 7″ x 7″Aloha Heart Pillow (I’ll choose the color and pattern for you). Aloha Heart Pillows are made from upcycled vintage and contemporary Hawaiian-patterned fabrics, with contrasting fabrics on each side. They make wonderful gifts and are easy to send in the mail to a friend, spruce up that tropical vacation rental, or gift to a friend or relative who may be overcoming an illness. Squeeze the ALOHA pouch for a calming burst of fresh Waimea lavender. The backside includes an inspirational quote. They’re one of a kind, no two are alike, they’re fun, and they’re made by yours truly. Whenever I need creative thinking time about a story, I trade in one machine (my laptop) for another (my sewing machine). Yes, I run to the kitchen, too, but it’s trickier to send baked goods by the mail (Amish friendship bread, anyone?).

spacer To enter, all you have to do is roam the website and like, tweet, pin, or share a page. That’s it! At the top of every page and post there is a menu bar with options for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and so on. Once you’re done with that, come back here and tell me what you did (“liked the Sweet Life book page on Facebook!”) and that’ll count for one entry. The more you do, the higher your chances of winning (earn an entry now by sharing this post!).

Just remember to leave a comment for each action for a maximum of ten entries per person. I’ll draw a winner once all the entries are verified on November 18, 11:59 pm EST, and announce the winner on this post so be sure to check back a few days after! Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

And the winner is Ginger B! Congratulations, Ginger, and thanks to everyone for joining in the fun and helping me spread the word. Ginger, please send your mailing address to me at authormiaking {at} gmail {dot} com.

I shared your book information with my 2 book clubs I belong to so that is 52 people that are now aware of your book. It sounds really good and I would love to read it. I would then post a review of it on Amazon and Goodreads.
