Top Five Best Places to Work in Government

The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) is proud to announce that the Board was recognized as ranked among the top five Best Places to Work in the Federal Government for 2011 for small agencies by the Partnership for Public Service. The Board was ranked second among 35 small agencies (100 to 1,999 employees). The Board’s overall employee satisfaction score was 89.3.

The Best Places to Work rankings are based on data obtained from the Office of Personnel Management’s Federal Employee Viewpoint survey. In 2011, more than 266,000 Federal employees, across 308 Federal agencies and subcomponents, responded to the survey. Large and small agencies were measured not only on overall employee satisfaction, but also in ten separate workplace categories. Among small agencies, the Board ranked first in fairness, pay, work/life balance, and training and development. In nearly all of the remaining categories, the Board ranked second or third. This was the first year the Board was eligible to be included in the rankings.
