Nine West has seven Manhattan locations, and they've just transformed two of them into vastly different concept stores. One's uptown at 555 Madison Avenue, and the other's in Soho at 577 Broadway; the former is the trendier of the two, and the latter's a lot more boho. And unfortunately, only one of them includes a latex-clad mannequin in the window.
The uptown store—or as you will now call it, the "World According to 9"—has been divided into three subsets. There's an area for basic boots ("9 Neutrals"), a section of animal print heels ("Go Wild"), and a wall that speaks for itself (the "World According to Pumps"). The decor is composed of hot pink flooring, black velvet ottomans, and mannequins that aren't as offensive to parents as these guys, but close.
In comparison, the Soho store is a lot more Coachella-by-way-of-Madewell. It's now the dedicated home of the " Vintage America Collection," which is housed amongst turquoise accents, pochos, animal horns on the wall, and print collages that include at least one mention of something Navajo.
The Broadway store will also feature Nine West's collaboration with Shopbop former fashion director Kate Ciepluch, which includes a line of shoes as well as an edited selection of bags, jewelry, hats, belts, and tees for the "Kate's Kartel" corner. And the collabs don't stop there: You'll also find special handbags by Monica Botkier, Dudine and Cynthia Dugan, and scarves and jewelry by Theodora & Callum amongst all those fringe heels and studded boots.
