The Secret Of Making Great YouTube Videos

March 8, 2012 | By Adrienne Smith

spacer Okay, I can’t help myself.  You did read the statistics I shared in my post last week right!  Videos are gaining on us fast guys so I can’t reiterate enough that you need to jump in now while you can.

You definitely don’t want to be left behind when everyone is watching videos in the years to come and there you are still sharing the written word.

I decided since I was going to step up my game with making videos that I better invest in a good course that’s going to help me learn how I can start creating some that people will really want to pay attention to.   I know you guys enjoy my videos but I want people who don’t have a clue who I am interested in what I share.

So, I haven’t quite jumped in yet because I’m still in the learning phase but my brain is going 90 miles an hour.  The thoughts and ideas I have are mind boggling so I’ll probably do my next product review on this program that I purchased and am learning so much from.  All I can say is it’s fabulous.

So on to the topic at hand.  The secret of making great YouTube videos…

Hope you enjoy this video because I’ve got some killer ideas you may not have thought of that will help you find out what your niche is wanting to see.  Are you ready?  Okay then, take it away.

So What Did You Think

I know you are very aware of several of these tips that I shared but I bet you didn’t know about all of them did ya!  I didn’t so hopefully I wasn’t the only one.

Great way to really find out what people want to know about and it goes above and beyond just your regular keyword research.

  • Were you aware of all of these?
  • Have you used them before?
  • If so, have you stuck with it and included them in your keyword research?
  • If not are you going to implement them now?

Love to hear your thoughts on this and of course you probably know what I’m going to ask next.  I have three more videos to do in Barry’s video challenge so I’m open for suggestions if you’d like to learn something specific.  You’ve been so faithful and continue to support me so I’d love to help you if I can.

I’m open for suggestions and would love to hear your comments.  So, I will look forward to hearing what you have to share.  Let’s compare notes okay!

See ya soon…

If you enjoyed this post then be sure to comment below and spread the love.

Hi Adrienne,

Super key to focus on keywords. When I paid attention to keywords, I drove more passive traffic to my vids.

The keyword tool is one of my favorite apps. Search for keywords that people are looking for, but aren’t too high, so you don’t have to fight the Big Boys. Make the list, and work off that.

Good tip too about videos popping up under your chosen keyword. If there are buyers, you will see videos, you will see demand. Good starting point, and great tip about the rising searches too.

Thanks for sharing Adrienne!

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I agree and an area that I have fallen down in I must admit. I’m so happy to hear that your results have been good using these methods. I’m stepping up my game now my friend.

Fighting the big boys is never fun. Hey, our content is worth viewing so just make it easy for them to find right! spacer

I never thought about the tip of already having videos for those keywords. That means that people on YouTube are searching for them as well. Or at least we sure hope so.

Thanks Ryan, as always, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. Hope all is going well for you this week.

Take care!

Amazing Adrienne. You make everything so clear! Thank you so much for these tips. As you know, I’ve just started with videos – I hadn’t even considered keywords. I guess you have to approach video with the same strategies as any other content you create.

I’d add one other tip to your list of how to make great YouTube videos – emulate Adrienne Smith!!

Thank you Ruth, glad I was able to make this very clear. I really didn’t consider doing keyword research for videos either. Dah! Where is my head sometimes you know. The tip of locating other videos on Google was a key point too. That means that people want to see videos on that topic which is really good for us.

You are too kind my friend, too kind! I’ll take that though! spacer

Have a fabulous day Ruth. I’ll be by your place today, I promise.

Hi Adrienne,

First off, thank you for mentioning, and linking to, the video blog challenge. I really appreciate that Adrienne.

Yet again you have produced an excellent video giving us all a valuable lesson. I did know about some of the tools and services you mentioned but not all of them spacer In fact I paused your video quite a bit and went and applied what you were showing us so I’m now linked up to them spacer

One tip to add to your excellent list: Before I upload a video to YouTube I search YouTube for similar videos and select those with a high view count. I then check out the description and see what keywords they’re using. If I haven’t got them in my list of keywords i add them as they’ve worked for that particular video spacer

I also keep a notepad doc of all the keywords I use for my videos, but I’ve only been doing that for a month or so.

I can’t wait for the review of the video course your taking. I simply love creating videos and can use all the tips that there are….. well can we ever have enough tips?

Thanks for a first class lesson Adrienne, I’ll add your details and link to the video blog challenge page right away.

Take good care.

Respect and Regards,
Barry

Hi Barry,

You are very welcome Barry and I appreciate you putting this challenge together and helping others step outside their comfort zone and get started with creating videos. You are helping me to stay on a consistent routine of at least shooting one a week. Videos should be included in everyone’s marketing strategy so I’m glad you’ve put this together.

I added all the links in my description over on YouTube and I suppose I should have done that here too right! I’ll be sure to edit that..

I do that too Barry although it’s obvious I didn’t mention it in this post. Thanks for pointing that out. I’m always getting ideas of keywords I should be using although I have seen some rank higher with very few which I found extremely surprising.

It’s a great little course and I’ve gotten so much from it. That will be coming soon Barry.

Thank you for adding my link to the challenge. You always beat me to the punch.

Hope your ankle is doing much better today. No more doctor visits I hope.

I’ll be by your place today. Crazy hectic busy yesterday so once again, I’m a little behind but better late then never right!

Best to you Barry! spacer

I’ve already started getting Google alerts for one of the video keywords I used Adrienne. It was well worth pausing your video and applying that one spacer

The ankle is doing ok, the swelling is going down every night but comes back during the day but its getting better, thank you spacer

This really is turning into a great challenge. We’ve got some new people creating their first videos which is fantastic spacer Plus we get great lessons from people like yourself Adrienne…. Win Win Win spacer

Have a great day spacer

That’s awesome Barry, getting video alerts can really be helpful I’ve found too.

That’s good to hear and I hope you’re being a good boy and keeping it elevated. I’m sure the swelling will start staying down for good soon. You must have really pulled it.

Oh I love hearing that Barry. New people doing this challenge and stepping outside their comfort zone. Boy, I know how that is so this is good news. Hope they can learn something from us Barry!

Thanks again and you have a great day too.

Adrienne – Didn’t I just say yesterday that I always learn something when I come to your blog?! And whilst I have used the keyword tool and Google insights, I have never looked at YouTube trends via Twitter or via their blogspot, so I’m looking forward to hearing more about your video marketing training spacer that you are doing!

Great content as always Adrienne,
Nicky

Hey Nicky,

lol… Yep, I love that you of all people are learning something from me. You, Miss Top Notch Network Marketer so I’m extremely flattered.

I learned a few new things in this course too and watch out because I’m going to take my videos up a notch or two myself. Got all those things going on in my head right now so just have to piece them all together. Plus I’m playing around with some editing software which is a lot of fun.

Thank you so much for your video response Nicky. I love seeing you in person and loved that you took the time to explain that to me. I really do appreciate it.

Now, you enjoy your afternoon and glad you enjoyed the post!

This is really terrific and exciting Adrienne!!!

I have started to do tutorial videos but I am going to start to put my face out there as well, especially for my personal development blog, which call more for a showing yourself kind of videos.

Adrienne, you are really encouraging your audience to use videos here, no doubt about it. Love all those tips and will watch again when I’m at home and more at ease to be all ears.

That’s good to hear Sylviane, glad you enjoyed this one.

I look forward to seeing you in front of the camera Sylviane. I’m sure your audience will be excited about that too.

Since we can’t ignore how popular videos are now, I hope these tips will help with learning what your target audience wants to know about. Paul’s post was fabulous for that topic so once you have your keywords in place it’s time to step it up a notch and do a little more research. Tada, Adrienne to the rescue showing you the ropes.

Thanks Sylviane and you have a wonderful day young lady! I’ll be by your place later.

Adrienne,

Youtube trends…who knew?! Well I guess 32,000 other people did! haha…

Great quick video tips. The 10,000 to 30,000 search range is good for those searching in Google, however that’s just search. There are tons of other places to get your videos seen.

One of my other favorite video tips is a video response to a top video marketer. Love these tips…I’ll be added these to my swipe file for sure!
