Did you know?

The CPD has had more than one specialized playground. In 1975, matching funds from the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation made the Physical Development Research Park possible. It was geared for school-age children and included wooden fixtures, which were presumed safer. Today the CPD's developmental playground serves toddlers and preschoolers without any wooden features, but it has a the same goal as the 1975 research park: stimulating development.
