United High School Media (UHSM) is an annual event hosted by Marshall University's W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications. This weekend gives Tri-State high school students and teachers an opportunity to learn more about journalism and to meet others who share the same interests.
UHSM not
only features various guest speakers and educational
workshops, but also gives
student media organizations a chance to compete with other high schools. UHSM,
established in 1927, encompasses all forms of high school media, including
broadcast, newspaper and yearbook. Currently, UHSM focuses on the improvement
of high school journalism. To learn more about its history, click
