Obama DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Tanks to Go With Their 1.6 Billion Bullet Stockpile

From GatewayPundit.com (and not InfoWars):

This is getting a little creepy.
According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.

DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP).

What is an MRAP vehicle?  It would be this:

spacer And it would be this:

spacer It is, essentially — at 14+ tons — a tank on wheels.  And a very far cry from the standard LE Lenco BearCat which is popular with law enforcement agencies across the nation regarding SWAT and other specialized applications/units.  See the Lenco BearCat, at 8.5 tons.

spacer I’d say there was an — ahem — massive difference between the two vehicles.

Perhaps time to submit a video here:

That seen, though I have been accused of being something of a tinfoil-hat-wearer, I would submit today’s Tom Sullivan show for comparison.  He asked on Monday:

IS THE US GOVERNMENT BUILDING A DOMESTIC ARMY? THE TOP OF THE STACK FOR MARCH 4TH, 2013

1) According to a report, The Department Of Homeland Security has purchased 2,700 light-armored tanks, 1.6 billion bullets.

This isn’t the hated or disgusted InfoWars; it’s something of a mainstream Conservative reporter wondering what is happening.

You’d have to be brain-dead to think there isn’t some purposeful activity occurring within the continental United States — and it doesn’t have anything to do with the adherence to the Bill of Rights of the Constitution — but instead with the abrogation thereof.

I wrote, earlier, about the issues here:

1. Fox News: the DHS purchase of 1 billion+ rounds of ammunition is no big deal

2. DHS Purchases 21.6 Million More Rounds of Ammunition — WHY?

3. The Obama Administration knows it’s tanking our economy, and is preparing for the resulting civil insurrection:

4. Department of Homeland Security gears up for “civil unrest” come November:

5. DHS Informant: US government preparing for massive civil strife

Many of my federal contacts are surprisingly short of comment.  With one or two exceptions.  But mostly they are silent.  It is somewhat unlike them.

But I would posit a few questions that I’ve no doubt asked before:

Why so many rounds?
Why so many vehicles?
Why so militarily-oriented?
Why no explanation?

Frankly, I simply don’t hear any answers to these questions.  Nor do I hear the questions asked in any kind of a public forum.

I’ll ask these questions and answer them in a future post, using logic, common sense, rationality, proportion and history.

BZ

P.S.
Finally, let’s divide this purchase.  2,700 vehicles parsed amongst 50 states = 54 MRAP vehicles per state.

Look for them to be distributed and parked either in LE agency lots or in NG lots.

Sperling Admits Obama Misled in Debate: The President Did Propose the Sequester

10:28 AM, Mar 3, 2013 • By DANIEL HALPER
White House economic adviser Gene Sperling admits that, yes, in fact, the sequestration was President Obama’s plan:

“We put forth the design of” the sequestration, Sperling said in the video.

Mr Obama LIES and will do ANYthing to enable the disabling of this country in order to reassemble it in the fashion that HE envisions.  Nothing more than, simply put: the Cloward-Piven Strategy.

Lock-picking “workshop” for the public in Oakland, CA: perhaps not such a great idea?

spacer It’s no amazing revelation that Oakland, Fornicalia is jam-gepacked with black gangs.

It’s no amazing revelation that Oakland, Fornicalia has a huge murder and crime rate.

Yet, despite that, its Leftist and stultifyingly-ignorant mayor, Jean Quan — completely lacking any grasp of reality or situational awareness — thought it was a good idea to “encourage(d) residents to sign up for a weekend workshop on how to pick locks via her newsletter.”

Yes yes yes, I can hear your gut-busting laughter from here.  Because we — you and I — have an actual concept of how the world truly works.

However, the workshop advertisement actually said:

Have you always wanted to know how to pick a lock? In many cases, opening a lock without a key is easier than you think!

Join us in this workshop as we introduce the art and technique of lockpicking, explaining the function of pin tumbler locks, wafer locks, padlocks, and many others. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a solid understanding of how lock systems work and you’ll know what steps to take should you ever find yourself standing keyless outside the door to your own home!

One nice comment noted:

spacer As I frequently say: “you can’t write shit like this.”  Because you simply can’t.  You can’t possibly forecast the incredibly ignorant and excessively-stupid crap that occurs like this at the behest of GOWPs and, in this case, some kind of simpering Leftist female.

Oakland residents — those lawful citizens who aren’t gang members — (all ten of them) actually took umbrage.  They said:

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — City leaders in Oakland have been getting some angry e-mails lately from some of the people they serve. Mayor Jean Quan is the major target after her newsletter appears to promote a class designed to teach people how to pick a lock. In a city with a crime problem, it’s easy to see why they’re not happy.

The name of the class appears among 40 others in the catalog for the upcoming “Workshop Weekend” in Oakland, right alongside things like “robot building.” It’s a 3-hour class called “Introduction to Lockpicking” and it was listed on Quan’s newsletter, something some residents found troubling.

“I honestly feel that a lot of people should not have these skills. They shouldn’t have these skills,” Oscar Ruiz said.

Really?  D’ya think?

Ah, yes.

Your efficient and effective LEFTIST governments at work.

Questions about the “Affordable Care Act”

Posted on by BZ

spacer First, a misnomer: the “Affordable Care Act” ISN’T, particularly for the American Taxpayers who are FUNDING it.

[An aside: you know, honest to God, I really do conjure that the bulk of what Rush Limbaugh terms "Low Information Voters" believe that the government is the source, the fount, of all income -- and not the Mark I, Model I American Taxpayer.  America has, sadly, become Brain-Glazingly Ignorant within the past few generations.  Too many alleged Americans believe that their governmental Free Cheese grows on trees.]

I ruminate because of Old NFO‘s recent blogpost involving “My Medical Appointment.”

Please read it before continuing.

With that in mind, in re doctors now apparently asking patients about their firearms during a medical consultation that has and should have nothing to do with firearms, I posit a few questions for my ever-intelligent readers:

1. Are you or have you been posed any questions about firearms during a recent medical visit?
2. What was your answer?
3. Are these questions lawful?
4. Are you legally required to answer them?
5. What statutes are involved?  Provide citations.

Because, up to this point, much has been written that I suspect is hearsay, unsupported and/or otherwise anecdotal from other sites.

Please, I ask, if you have answers to the above questions, kindly provide situations and citations and statutes.

Excellent Forbes.com article about the issue, here.
