About Tony Adam

Hi, I’m Tony Adam, currently the founder/CEO of Eventify and Visible Factors and advisor to multiple LA startups. Formerly I’ve been at companies like PayPal, Yahoo!, and most recently, Myspace. I maintain a couple blogs, one being an online marketing blog and also my general thoughts on technology and entrepreneurship.

Tony has been involved in technology since 2000 and has about a decade of experience of technology, internet, and sales/marketing. He started young and gained a mass of a experience whiles studying to receive a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Mt. Sierra College. He started at Fame 1 Computers, Inc., over the course of many years he provided technology consulting to clients ranging from server/network infrastructure, software/database management to sales/marketing and client management. Upon departure, Tony ran sales, marketing, and operations for all aspects of the business and was effectively General Manager of the business.

Tony’s start in Search Marketing came in 2003, managing Pay Per Click campaigns using Overture and Google AdSense and moved on to SEO in 2004 where he helped Fame 1 Computer rank top 3 for all major terms related to computer and technology leasing. He has worked with many organizations from early stage startups, SMBs, and Fortune 500 companies like PayPal and Yahoo!.

At PayPal Tony was the production lead on almost every marketing project in delivering user experience and web development requirements to a final product and moved on to lead the Standards program for the organization in areas of Web Development, User Experience and Brand Guidelines. At Yahoo! he lead SEO for the major Yahoo! Media properties, encouraged the creation of original content, and led the charge for bringing Social Media into marketing practices. His major achievement was helping Yahoo! Games rank top 3 for all casual game keywords and game names. At BillShrink, he headed up traffic/user acquisition leveraging SEO, viral marketing, and content distribution which lead to the 300%+ increase in search traffic and 200% increase in overall web traffic.

Aside from being a search marketing professional and well versed marketer, Tony has experience in other areas like product development and business development. He is a speaker at many online marketing conferences like SMX, PubCon, and SXSW Interactive. He also writes an InHouse SEO column for Search Engine Land and maintains his own blog.
