The RestaurantΒ In 2009, three good friends came together to open Fond: Lee Styer, the chef, Jessie Prawlucki, the pastry chef, and Tory Keomanivong, the dining room manager. An opportunity presented itself, and we saw the potential East Passyunk Avenue had to offer. All three of us had been working for years in the Philadelphia restaurant scene, honing our skills at restaurants like Le Bec-Fin and Lacroix. Ready for a new challenge, we combined our ideas and abilities, and quickly had our restaurant up and running.

Passion, discipline, and the constant drive towards excellence ensure high quality food and service at Fond. We are always working to offer the best dining experience, making our guests’ comfort, satisfaction, and pleasure our top priority. From the moment a guest walks in and is warmly greeted with a smile, to the last delicious bite of expertly-prepared food, we make sure they are left wanting nothing.

Chef Styer and his team prepare contemporary American cuisine with high-quality fresh ingredients. Lee uses classic techniques to build complex layers of flavors. Our menu is approchable, yet interesting.

Jessie has been making all of the restaurant’s bread and desserts since day one, and two years after Fond opened, she was able to expand, and opened a small bakery one block away. She continues to be Fond’s exclusive pastry chef, meticulously preparing desserts and baking daily, in her own space.

Three years after Fond’s opening at 1617 East Passyunk Avenue, we began to outgrow our tiny original location, and found a more spacious corner property, just steps away. We now offer a more comfortable, open dining room, with great views of the fountain on Passyunk, and a custom-built, handcrafted bar to enjoy a cocktail before dinner or a nightcap after. We have added a wine list to our offerings, with uncommon and carefully chosen bottles. Another feature of our new location is the Chef’s table, in a private dining room, with a gorgeous oak-slab table top, and a window peeking into the kitchen.

We invite you to come enjoy a meal in our dining room, look forward to serving you, and making you feel as welcome as you would in a friend’s living room.
